351	mater4 Wed 10/24/2007 2:21p	I am finally here and see that I am being nominated for Judge. MM you are right on about me except for the psycho part. I will gladly accept the position. Now to attend to my duties. As for TX's splinter these are things I should delegate since I do not have the expertise in all areas. The splinter requires a medical expert and I nominate TQ since her DH is a doctor. Now to move on to the christmas shopping issue. Anyone who goes shopping on Black Friday is crazy. I need some more facts before I can make my decision. Do you finish all of your shopping on Black Friday?(that means no more shopping til xmas) and If you are finished with your shopping by Black Friday are your gifts wrapped by the next day?(this means no more wrapping for the year) I will make my decision when these questions are answered. Tink to answer your question I will be at the Hojo's. Those of you who will be there the last week of Nov. where are you staying? Despite what MM may be thinking no I am not a stalker just curious.
352	gottaluvdavillains Wed 10/24/2007 2:27p	Okay so here's a rundown of my latest escapade... Left for DL aroung 4...stopped at Denny's in Coalinga for dinner - taste but a little slow on service - SIL of course doesn't tip (she always finds a reason to stiff the server...)so I leave a healthy tip with my bill... We arrive at the Desert Inn around 10:30 or 11:00 not bad time as we did stop for real food not a drivethru(didn't want her kid's eating in my truch anyway). Get the kids into the room (parlor suite A = 2 queens and a queen hide-a-bed in separate room) bad part 8 people one bathroom!! Her kids for some reason need to shower first - this is fine as Hannah Montana is on Disney Channel so my DD is fine waiting...an hour and 20 minutes later (she has 3 kids G12,G11,B10) and they take forever!! My SIL is first generation from Mexico and the girls got that beautiful think hispanic hair we all wish we could have forever so SIL starts in with the girls about brushing their hair and teeth (her girls have braces as does my DS11 and both her G11 and my DS11 have neck gear with their braces although me DS also has rubber bands to wear)The girls aren't moving fast enough so she starts smacking them and calling them names (not enough to leave physical marks but enough to be embarrassing for them)- My DD is out of the shower by now and is already in bed as is both of my sons and her son (he is the one with the high functioning autisim and is somewhat OCD). When SIL is in the bathroom I tell the girls just hurry up so we can all go to bed and the night can just be over... Woohoo it's morning and we are going to DL... I shower then SIL does and then my DS11 (he is a morning showerer) - my DS18 is going to meet us at the park so we leave SIL in the room and head down to the cont breakfast(nothing fancy toast, pastry, milk, juice,cereal) and I talk to the girls (out of earshot of DN as he repeats things) and tell them I am sorry their mom was so mean the night before but it was probably just because she was tired - they say Yeah right... Go to the park - send DN12 and DS11 off for space mountain FP and tell them to meet us at buzz while I return some books I got on the last trip on animation that DS16 said were the wrong type - SIL is returning some tops from a while ago. she got them at a Disney outlet but they still had the tags so she took them back (whatever). The other 2 are already at buzz waiting and call me so I tell them go ahead and ride and we will be right there. We head over to buzz and decide to ride it later and jump onto space tours - gotta go to endor...Leave there and head over to fantasy land. Ride Matterhorn and see that PP is too long so we head over to Woody's roundup - but we are too early so we go instead to BTMRR and ride that, then send the runners to Splash mountain. We then ride pirates, Haunted Mansion, then pooh and splash mountain - while on splash DS18 goes to the stagecoach and gets us a table. We get some chicken and mozzeralla strips and have some lunch - we then head back over to the other side do the cookie baking (so funny)and ride buzz and then space mountain. I let the kids do the star wars picts - so funny the boys do one and then the girls. Time to go back to the room for McD's and get ready for the Trick or Treat!! Gotta run will list more later...
353	mickeynewe Wed 10/24/2007 2:31p	Tink, for some reason your story just really made me chuckle--- of course, it could have been that I was one of those internet STALKERS! I can see your DH was really concerned--- he sent you to the park without him to meet me. How crazy was that? hehehehe Villians--- been there, done that with the meds. Trust me, I know! Different med, same problem. I tried everything, nothing worked. UNTIL, I bought that Benefiber stuff. It really works! No grit, really doesn't get thick & yucky to drink. Can't even tell its added to your water. Give it a try. Okay, the Furby story----- you might want to settle down for this one! Its Christmas time. All my shopping is done, my packages are wrapped--- I'm just waiting to put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. My tradition. I can't wait. I'm so enthused. I can laugh at all those other people that are stressing out-- nope, not me. I got it all taken care of. Yeah, right--- so I thought. My cute as a bug baby girl comes up to me one day with her adorable little pigtails and big brown eyes and looks at me beseechingly. "Mommy do you think I still have time to email Santa and change my list?" Uh? what? "Sure honey. What do you want to ask Santa for?" Please no, please no... "Well, I really want a Furby-- more than ANYTHING." Da#n, those commercials! "Oh, honey, I don't know about a Furby. Furby's have been sold out for weeks baby." "I know Mommy, that's why I want to ask Santa." "Okay, baby girl. Let's go email Santa" All the while thinking to myself where in the hecky-do am I going to get a Furby? [Okay, back track a little to explain this. You have to understand one thing. My little girl is the type that NEVER asks or anything. I always have to prod and prod and prod just to get her to give me a couple of ideas. Back to the story--] The search begins. I look everywhere. Of course, just as the news reports, there are no Furbys anywhere to be found. I couldn't even get one off E-bay. What am I going to do? My daughter has put all of her trust and faith in Santa. I felt horrible. None of my internet, bargaining, searching skills had paid off. Then, as if the heavens themselves had opened up---- it came. A Wal-Mart ad. Yeah, think I'd ever gotten excited about a Wal-Mart ad before? Nope. I don't think so. But this ad was different, this ad has FURBYS! Fine print: Availaible the day after Thanksgiving, stores opening at 5:00 a.m. (okay, so the wording isn't verbatim, but you get the drift) My husband looks at me like, "you've got to be kidding?" He gets the LOOK. "I guess we're going shopping the day after." he says. THE ALARM CLOCK RINGS. "What the....", its only 3 am he says. "Well, do you want a shower? I do." "The store doesn't open until 5 am". "Yeah, but we need to be there by 4 am for the line" I say. "Line? What line? What person is going to be crazy enough to get up at 4 am and stand in line?" His question was answered for him when we drove into the parking lot. I hop out of the car while he stays in the warm cozy vehicle with out daughter sound asleep in the back seat. "Are you going to be safe?" he asks. I give him my best, are you serious look, and make my way towards the line. Soon everyone is visiting. Wal-mart even brings out hot coffee and donuts. Well, that certainly is nice! Everyone is behaving, we have a nice line going, I'm way up in front, I'll go in--- get my Furby, come out, and----- STAMPEDE! I nearly get crushed as the doors open. People literally start rushing the doors. They hit the stores as if they are running from a natural disaster and their lives were dependent upon escaping. Me, I'm just being moved along like a piece of driftwood caught in a wave. Although, they didn't all seem to be going in the same direction as I was. Could it be that people actually wanted to buy something other than a FURBY? Hmphff. I spot him. A man with several large boxes and 2 co-workers. There is a table in front of him. It looks like he's going to start setting up....F-u-r... Ack! I'm being pushed along with the crowd, again! Suddenly, I am being crushed between the people behind me and the table in front of me. They are rushing so hard the table is starting to turn over and I'm about to go over with it. The 2 co-workers immediately push against the table in the opposite direction. However, I am sure I am still going to be severed in half as the pressure increases behind me and the table presses in from the front. With panicked eyes I look at the man before me. I can't tell who is more afraid--- me or him. Suddenly, Furby's fly! Did you know Furby's could fly? I sure didn't! But, thank God they do. The pressure is immediately released. I can breathe. I look down. I am still in one piece! Although behind me, people are literally diving for the Furby's. Now, the man in front of me, my rescuerer, smiles at me. I smile back. As his co-workers continue to throw out Furby's into the distance, he lightly tosses one in to my hands. Immediately, this woman wrenches it from my hands and makes off. I stand there stunned. There went my daughter's Furby. I silently wished that Santa would not bring that vicious woman one thing for Christmas. She had just stolen my daughter's Furby! And right out of my hands too! Luckily for me, my new friend saw the whole thing. He went for the second pass--- It was in my hands, "Yes!" What? You want this Furby too? Talk about blatant nerve, that same woman was back--- and now she was trying to wrench THIS Furby out of my hands! I held on to that Furby as if I were holding on to my own baby girl. I was bent over, struggling to keep hold of it, and had it clutched tightly in my best football hold as I ground out in my fiercest voice, "You are not getting MY FURBY!" Maybe it was the determination in my voice--- or the crazed look in my eye--- but the woman looked scared. Forget the fact she was twice as big as me, I was not a woman to be messed with at that exact moment of time. Continuing to glare at the woman as I straightened up, I hugged my Furby fiercely. Turning to the gentleman that had so graciously delivered my daughter's greatest Christmas wish, I smiled and said, "Thank you. Merry Christmas." He in turn smiled and said, "Merry Christmas". With that I left the store, exhausted, and literally bruised as I found out a few hours later. So you might think that was the end of my Furby story--- but its not--- it continues. Later that day my husband, daughter, and I go to Costco. As we walk in the door..... "Pssst." I look around and continue to take a step. "Psst., come here". I look at my husband who starts to follow. "No, just you." My husband and I eye each other questionably, but I go. So I walk up to the Costco doorman who says to me in a very low, very hushed tone, "We have Furbys." "What?" I say surprised. "We're hiding Furby's in the back. We aren't putting them on the floor because we're afraid of a mob. I'm supposed to tell people that I think might be interested," he says as he nods towards my daughter. "Hey honey--- why don't you two go ahead. I'll catch up later!" My husband looks at me quizzically but knows better than to question me at Christmas. Feeling like some secretive spy, doing covert dark business, the worker and I conduct our transaction. He gives me two "slips" to take to the man at the counter. There, in exchange for cash, he's arranged for me to receive two of those talking, furry, little madcap creatures. I quickly stash the creatures out of sight and make a run for the car. Yeah, that's right--- Santa was a hero that year. He brought my daughter her prized Furby. And me, I was just THE greatest aunt that year. Yep...that's me. If anyone were to ever ask me if those bruises were worth it-- one look in my daughter's face on Christmas morning-- and I'd say.... "yeah, each and every one!"

However, as long as I wasn't chosen to remove the sliver from TX's bumpus I'm a happy camper. Thank you villains, I am humbled that you think I am the biggest lunatic. That's better than getting a Golden Doobie. I'm looking foreward to the next chapter of your trip report. Well, this has been a very interesting day to say the least. Three of our members felt it necessary to share their bowel issues. If anyone cares, I don't have constipation problems. Being on a well pretty much takes care of that. If anyone would like me to bottle up some of my well water and send it to them, I would do it gladly. tink, do you think we should have a line on our spreadsheet entitled "bowels", or something of that nature? Usually, it would not be worth considering, but apparently it seems to be important to some of our members. Perhaps we need our judge's ruling on this. mickey...I love Furby. DD got one for her birthday years ago and we still play with him. I love that little guy. The nerve of that other woman. Yet, I've seen it happen myself. Total craziness. I'm glad you got you Furby, and someone "upstairs" was rewarding your good behavior by giving you the chance to get a second one. I can't believe I used the words "good behavior" regarding mickey.
355	rtjl72 Wed 10/24/2007 5:41p	ahh, christmas shopping. i usually have mine done before thanksgiving. oh, oh, i have now mad at least one half of the group not happy! and those presents are wrapped. ugh! i can hear those sounds of excalamation!and tofurthermy fall into badness- that wrapping paper is coded for whoever the present is for. i can't put names on them because my kids are snoops. even at ages 26 and 28! so all of ds have one type of paper, his wife another and so on. then on christmas i identify whose paper is which. it's kind of fun! very few presents this year, though, their presents arebasically theirtripsto dl next summer. the 3 grandkids get mickey luggage, the baby diapers and wipes and the older 2 clothes and pjs. not too exciting under the tree this year, but what excitement next summer! if anybody is interested there is some pretty good luggage at disney shopping .com. the lst time i lookes this 3 piece set was $59. it's rea;;y nice. and if you wait for a special they have codestht will give you an additional 20% off.

357	rtjl72 Wed 10/24/2007 7:10p	whew! i had to dash over to my son's house for a minute. no, i never go for a minute, i have to stay and play with my grandkids. anyway, my grandaughter needed a pair of cowboy boots for halloween. tomorrow night they are going to the zoo for night eyes and she needed boots for the costume. wouldn't you guess it. her mom remembered i had bought my g.d. a pair of cowboy boots with gems on them on after christmas clearance for this christmas. well, at least i didn't have those wrapped yet. isn't that wierd! just at the time we are going on about christmas presents i get an all points bulletin about my christmas stash and have to raid it. it must be the full moon. ps. i have not used capital letters to write since i was in high school, so it isn't my typing skills(although they are very not good) but just a habit i picked up to be unique in my teen years.
358	Tinkerbell819 Wed 10/24/2007 8:08p	Villains, the SIL is sounding like a pita! (Especially the no tipping part, I w%$k as a waitress on Sun. nights and does she know we only make $2 an hour? Dinners come out slow b/c of the cooks anyway, not us!) I hope she gets nicer by day 2. Only Mom is coming on the next trip, right? (as far as other "grown ups".) I loved the "Furby" story, Mickey! It's funny how when we get up at the crack of dawn and go through torture to buy a gift, it's available later and easier. If we don't go through the torture, you can be darned sure we won't ever be able to get it anywhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas! I'm trying to tabulate the shopping score. MM, MN, Vil, rt are on the early side. MMW, Mater and I are on the late side with TX on the fence. Has TQ stated her preference yet? We could potentially have a tie with TQ being the tie breaker. As far as the bowel thing goes, I'll let MM figure that score out. Mater, can you ask about the Entertainment rate for Hojos? I'm worried that if you booked through AAA you probably can't. I got the ent. rate of $54.95 per night for the same time period. Instead of AAA you should use our cyber stalker travel agency. We are much better at finding deals. We're crazy that way, you can see how MM checks airfare every day just for the heck of it. (looks away sheepishly so you don't catch on that I do the same thing...)

At least I would like to think I would. You were very diplomatic in the way you handled it. You were well rewarded. MM I bet you had no idea that I can be so smart with this judge thing. RT shame on you for early shopping. You are one of the worst cases I have ever seen. LOL! Tink unfortunately everything is booked. We wanted the toontown passes,preffered seating etc. since my inlaws will have the same package. I can forgive you if you plan and book your DL trip early as you are not as close as I and have to fly. DL trips are VIP. We are due to arrive on Nov.25 and drive home on the 29. I think our next trip will be at the end of April. Most of spring breakers will be off in March and that seems to be cheer competition month so we will avoid DL at all costs.
360	MerryMouseWife Wed 10/24/2007 9:33p	Mickey, your Furby story is classic. My neighbor practically injured herself, too, getting a Furby for her daughter. Mine, however, were quite deprived that Christmas. I decided that no Furby would cross our threshold because of an article in the business section of a Sunday paper in July that told me that I would be standing in line at 4 a.m. on Black Friday to get the little critter because it was THE toy gift of the holidays. Hoo boy, do I hate being told by some suit on Madison Ave. what I will be giving my kids for Christmas. I don't remember what I got them, but I know it was not a Furby. lol Villians, I think you need to travel to DL with just your immediate family; maybe their kids, but leave the adults at home. Geeze.
