| travellerandquilter Sun 10/28/2007 12:56a | Hi again, back from the soccer weekend with 6 games and one yes one goal scored for our team and that was by the goalie when she went out for a run. Wow I had 40 something posts to read. for just 2 days. I feel for you all with odd family members that make life h**l for others and they just don't seem to realise what they do and what chaos they create. Hope the car is fixed and ok. Am planning to continue christmas shopping this week but will not wrap till I have a few to do. I usually put our christmas tree up on Dec 1 and have a few decorations around the kitchen and family room. Hope everyone's weekend had been great. TQ |

| travellerandquilter Sun 10/28/2007 12:41p | What is the entertainment rate? I have booked HoJo's for Jan and booked over the net with the AP rate but it is much more than the Ent rate for TB. Is it worth phoning and trying for the ent rate or is that something special? Ta |

| rtjl72 Sun 10/28/2007 6:05p | sunday evenings are so peaceful. this one was just a little late in starting. mater-bummer about the car accident. i am so happy that nobody was hurt. well at least you weren't hurting too bad at your last post. i hope you haven't been more miserable today. it sounds like everybody who is going to dl at the same time might end up together at hojos. the more the merrier, huh? are you on pins and needles as the time to go will be here in a flash? i would be. have you started packing yet? my packing for an upcoming vacation is almost as planned out as that early bird christmas shopping. i have several swimsuits in the surprise closet for the grandkids. i love those sales and these were real bargains! how about it? anyone packed yet? or do you get to go often enough that you just stay packed? groan... if you are you are one lucky mouseketeer. |

| gottaluvdavillains Sun 10/28/2007 8:21p | Keep all my toiletries packed - just refresh the bag when I get home!! I pack usually the night before - I know in my head what I will be taking - but my big baby dog (half golden retreiver half Lab) starts moping around when she sees the suitcases out - so I try and wait till the last minute to torture her!! The sooner I pack the sooner she just lays out in the other room on her bed with her big sad eyes.... |

| TXDISNEYNERD Mon 10/29/2007 7:24a | Hi everyone. It's taken me a while to get caught up this morning.
Mater - I am sorry to hear about your wreck. Drivers can be so rude and impatient. I was rear ended before while I waited for a school bus to load with kids and the stupid car behind me didn't pay attention to a school bus. I am glad you are okay. I know it is a pain to get your car fixed. I'm in favor of you getting a free pass this week. We will be nice.
Mickey - I hope your daughters gig went well. You will have to let us know. Although, I am not sure I am speaking to you after you wrapped 17 packages. That is just sickening. LOL
Instead of shopping for Christmas which is only two months away, I decided to make some clothes for our Disney trip in 5 months. I made a Nemo shirt and skirt outfit for the DD1 as well as some Nemo overalls. When I say made, I mean I bought plain clothes cheaply at Walmart and then added decorations to it. I wish I knew how to sew and really make clothes. We also bought my DD17 and my DS13 stuff to make a shirt. DD17's is going to say "Some Day My Prince Will Come" and DD13 is going to be something Pirates, but we are not sure yet. We are thinking about it saying "Yo Ho Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me". Do you guys have any other ideas? I also have some other things for the DD1 that are Princess themed to make.

| MOLLYSMOM Mon 10/29/2007 9:12a | Happy monday, ladies. Looks like you all had busy weekends.
RT...you asked if I w**k at a trucking firm. No, but in the auto business. I work for a Ford dealership.
You also asked what the grandkids call me. I'm not sure what they call me behind my back, but to my face the 1 yer old just smiles because she isn't talking much yet...the 2 year old calls me grama, and the 8 year old calls me chickie-babe...because I told her to. I wasn't too sure about the "grama" thing at first, but I got used to it. As long as they didn't call ne "Nana" I was ok.
mater...how are you feeling today? Thank God you weren't seriously injured.
mickey...report needed on your DD's performance. Also...we have to be nice to mater for the WHOLE WEEK??? I need a judges ruling on this one....shoot, mater IS the judge. Ok, one week it is. That's pretty brutal, though.
tink...the punkin' bread recipe sounds so good....send me 3 loaves, will ya? Preferably not burnt. DD made punkin' pancakes at school the other day, and she said they were terrific. I'm not a pancake fan, but I think I'd like those.
villains...you need to call HoJo again to see if you can get the Entertainment rate. Geez...don't they know who you are? Oh, maybe they do and that's the problem. Also, I'm not sure whether to say "congrats" to your DS on the job prospect or not. Missing a trip to DL AND his sweetie, too?
TQ...the HoJo Entertainment rate is a special deal that you get with a coupon that is in what's called the Entertainment Book. The book has coupons for restaurants, car rentals, movies, all kinds of things. You can purchase the book for a particular area...say the area you live in, or an area that you will be traveling to. For HoJos, you get in touch with Willie there,(call the hotel directly, not the toll free #) and ask him for the entertainment rate...$54 is the deal you'll get. You MUST present your coupon when you check in. The entertainment rate is not always available, but you can usually get it during the "off season", though.

| MerryMouseWife Mon 10/29/2007 9:36a | Finally all caught up on the posts and I know I will never remember what everyone else has done. Although, I do remember about Mater and the accident. I hope you get your truck straightened very quickly. I am relieved to hear that no one was hurt.
Someone asked what English Matrimonials are a bar cookie with raspberry filling.
1-1/2 C flour 1 C brown sugar 1-1/2 C rolled oats 3/4 C butter 1 12oz can of Solo raspberry pastry filling, or 12oz of seedless raspberry jam
Mix together flour, sugar, rolled oats until it resembles little pebbles. Press 1/2 mixture into 9 x 13 pan sprayed with cooking spray. Spread raspberry filling over this up to 1/4 inche of edges. Spread the rest of the crumb mixture over the top of the raspberry and light press. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until edges are browned. Cool and cut into bars.
From what I understand these cookies are served as wedding favors and date back to medieval times. Or so I have been told. Our church used to do a rennaisance faire and I used to bake them for the faire.
The rest of the weekend was spent making Halloween costumes. A wedding reception for my nephew's out-of-town wedding last month was also in the mix.
Everyone have a great Monday.
MM - Sorry for your w**k woes. |

| Tinkerbell819 Mon 10/29/2007 10:06a | Hi Everyone! I hope villains has placed a call to Hojo's, I just checked out the Islander's location on Bret's lodging map and it looks entirely too fay away, you have to cross Katella for goodness sakes! (or at least that's the way it looks on the map.)
TQ, if you need help with an ent card, we could hook you up. I'm not sure if they have them all the way on the other side of the world! I buy a card on Ebay for a couple of bucks. I've never made out too good with that giant book of coupons. I always forget all about them and they all expire before I use any of them. I just get the card for the Hojo discount.
The cookies sound good, MMW. Today I have brownies in the oven. Hopefully I won't burn them.
TX, the clothes sound ADORABLE! Back in the day, I used to love to decorate the plain tees so the boys had matching shirts for our Disney trips. The trip we took to WDW, where they all ditched me, we all had on matching Christmas Disney sweatshirts that I made. I got a lot of compliments & folks asking where I got them...that is before they all ditched me. I'll try to think of something Pirate's themed.
The toiletries bag being packed is something I do, too. I just leave it packed with all of the little travel sized things and replace whatever needs replacing before the next trip. Some things, like vitamins, I , of course, put new things in for each trip. On Sat. we had a really bad rainstorm and our ceiling leaked in the room where I keep the toiletry bag. There was a puddle in there and now I don't even want to look at it. I have put it in the sun to dry and will assess the damage at a later time. |
