I was choked up reading the nice things about your DHs, and I was glad you both did some research before rushing into anything! ;) I think it's nice that you go camping and fishing on your off year from DL, MMom, but, PLEASE tell me you don't sleep in a tent!
How was your second bday outing, Villains? I hope you had fun! About the CP, I planned my trip hoping it was the right weekend for it, Dec. 1st and 2nd. We don't buy tickets or anything, I just go up and stand by City Hall and have always been able to see it. The first year I went, I was standing there with one of my DS that has Autism, my other son (just the 3 of us go on the Dec. trip) had wandered off somewhere to talk on my cell phone to a friend back home. A castmember came up to DS and I (at the last min. before the show started)and asked if we would like seats. Oh boy!! Would we!!!! I explained that one of my sons was off somewhere on the phone, she said there were 3 seats, but we had to take them now. I didn't know how to let the phone talker know we had seats, b/c that was our only phone, but I wasn't giving up that opportunity, so we went for it. We had seats in the 3rd row and it was magical! While we were let in through the rope, I was still looking around for the other DS and there was this woman beside me dressed up so nice is a gorgeous white outfit with a fur collar. I thought to myself "Boy, she really got dressed up to come to DL." Then I realized, OMG that's Marie Osmond! (She was the narrator.)
Since you already have seats, I'm hoping that means I picked the right weekend, b/c I haven't seen a schedule yet! You only have 2 1/2 days left to go for this trip...I didn't even remember that it was a surprise, how exciting!
I still have not read the last installment of MMom's trip report. I think it's b/c I know I have to wait 2 years for another one, I just want to save it for a rainy day... |

Of course I sleep in a tent! Camping ain't camping if you don't sleep in a tent downhill on an ant nest with a rock sticking in your back after eating burnt hot dogs covered in dirt because it fell off your stick. I suppose you reside in an RV or a cabin or something when you camp!?!
So, friday night DH and I are in the shop working on a building project, and we have the following conversation:
Me: Maybe we could go some year to DL in July instead of August? My friends on the web-site have a big get-together on the 17th, and it sounds like loads of fun.
DH: I don't know that I want to meet those people.
Me: Oh.
DH: I can't believe you'd even ask me that question...of course we can go in July, whatever you want is fine with me, you know that.
Me: But we always go in august for your birthday.
DH: You really think that would be an issue? What would I have to do?
Me: Whatever I tell you to do.
DH: So, the usual.
Me: Yup.
So, we're toying with the idea of doing July instead of August so I can be there for the meet. Personally, I would LOVE to do that, but I kinda feel like a stinker. We take DH specifically for his birthday and spoil him rotton with surprises every day. I believe him when he says he wouldn't care...but I would care. Maybe if I planned a surprise "Merry Un-Birthday" meet at the teacups for him and folks actually showed up I would be happy.
More decisions to ponder over.
When is villains getting back????? I'm excited to hear about the trip. How mony more days in YOUR countdown? I have 683 to my next summer trip (if I go in August), and 447 to my christmas vacation. |

I actually leave thursday...I am running around here crazy trying to get the house cleaned up (stay at home mom duties) but we've had soccer everyday so running out of time...I am also trying to pack secretly so DD doesn't catch on too soon!! Every morning we battle over what she will wear and I of course want to pack what she is picking but can't tell her that!!
Okay camping is fun - but I hope you at least take a blow up mattress!! I told my hubby I would camp again if we rented a motorhome....Big girls shouldn't sleep on the ground - but if I remember right you all are pretty small!!
Maybe you could plan your DL trip in july and then have a big weekend camping b-day party for DH - then you both score big events!!
Here's how the talk would have been between me and my hubby...
Me: How about a trip to DL in July so I could attend the LP meet?
Him: When did you want to leave?
Me: Around July 15 back on July 20th
Him: Are YOU taking any of the kids?
Me: Sure do you want to go?
Him: Why would I?
Me: Why not?
Him: You know why not, it's Disneyland - but you should go and have a great trip!!
Me: Okay, thanks I love you...
Him: yea I know and I like the way you got another trip out of me!!

I couldn't remember exactly when you were leaving. I knew it was this week, though. I thought perhaps since you were off of here yesterday that you had left before I got the chance to tell ya bye.
You done cleaning yet? Geez...what do you do all day if you have to clean like a mad woman? That house should be spotless every day...not just before you go on vacation. LOL :) :)
Ya, whatever...that's what my mom told me when I was home on maternity leave. "You're home for 6 weeks, you should have your house cleaned by 10; I know I do." Great mom, then you'll have all kinds of time to come over and clean mine.
So, DD has NO clue at all? I love surprise visits to DL. Those are the best.
I have 3 weeks vacation, but DH only has 2. I'm gettin' an idea about pulling a fast one on DD and maybe her and I heading down for a quick trip in the spring. Preferably the weekend DH is building the new deck! No, I wouldn't do that to him. I might have to give this some deeper thought.
You might have given me an awesome idea here.
Ok, so have a wonderful time. I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back, and I'm dying to know what you think about the hotel.
As far as your cleaning goes...you missed a spot. Right there, behind the toilet...see that big fur ball looking thingy? |

Tue 9/25/2007 1:22p | Oh, ya...we sleep on an air mattress, but it usually goes flat somewhere in the middle of the night. DH sleeps right through, but I move over to DD's and share hers until morning. We've gone through so many of those things.

I don't do toilets - I have 3 boys so I only clean the "girls" toilet (one in my bathroom) the boys must clean theirs - as I know I don't miss!! =D
Shoot I could clean all day and just have the dog walk through the house and need to start all over!!
Well back to it - time to pick up DD the boys just got home and time to start homework and get ready for more soccer!! |

I'm curious, b/c when I was finished, I saw all of Villain's trips coming up on the countdown page and I'm wondering how cool it must look when you sign on LP's home page to see 3 different trip countdowns. Do all 3 trips come up or is it just the first one?
With only one day left, she probably won't be posting anyway to answer me!
I'm so excited for her and DD and their birthday celebration/surprise. I can't wait to hear about it, but I do hope time goes by s-l-o-w-l-y, while they are there.
I am not a camper MM. If I went camping I'd like an air conditioned cabin with plumbing. I've tried it twice and after the 1st time, I thought, maybe it was just that trip that was bad,ie: the rain getting in the tent, having to go to the bathroom 3 times a night b/c it's a 10 min. walk, ending up sick as a dog from sleeping in the wet tent. I thought it might not be so bad if the weather was better. So, the next time it was about the same. I especially enjoyed the bears outside trying to pull the cooler open. Ugh. I don't know how you do it!
Come to think of it, in some ways, my life is like a big long camping trip, so I want to go someplace better than home when it's vacation time! |
