I'm sure this question has been answered a million times, but DS asked me this and I have no idea. I would assume that rides at Disney Parks outside of the US are all in the languages of the countries where the parks are and that although there might be some signage in English also and some people who might be able to translate, if one didn't know the country's language, be it French, Japanese, etc., the experience would feel very incomplete.

Would be very interested in any input. As it is, I don't get to visit DL or WDW often enough and have never seen the real Paris, never even been to Europe, so I don't foresee going to DLP unless I win a contest, but DS might like to some day. Thanks.

Well, the official languages of DLP are French and English, so cast members speak a minimum of those two languages. Parades and shows use a combination of those two languages in many cases, or more often, music and visuals are used. All writing is in both languages.

In Frontierland, Phantom Manor has a French ghost host in the portrait gallery, but there is no ghost host on the ride iteslf, music is used instead.

On the paddlewheelers, the narration is bilingual.

On PotC, the pirates speak 5 languages.

The darkrides are in French in Fantasyland.

Star Tours is in french. HISTA is in either French or English, but has headphones for translation.

Buzz is bilingual.

In the Studios, the attractions are either bi lingual, or there are headphones/subtitles for your language translations.

Considering there are 12 major languages within 5 hours of DLP, they handle the language issues quite well.

But it is unlikely we would ever see an attraction that relies on language (like the American Adventure or Spaceship Earth) in Paris.

I would really love the option to ride Star Tours in English at DLP as I feel some of the humor is lost!!!

What? No bilingual (English/Spanish) Ghost Host like in Anaheim ?

Fun fact about DLP's Star Tours: Rex speaks French, everything else is in English. (At least, that's the way it was when I was there.)

There are also some snippets of Paul Frees' original (English) voice tracks in the Ghost Town finale of Phantom Manor.

fkrucz, the ghost host in the portrait gallery is just francais. Then as I say, the orchestral score takes you along the way. Madame Leota is bilingual, the singing busts sing in English, and the Mayor indeed speaks some snipets of Paul Frees original script from the HM.

And about Star Tours, Dug is right on.

Yeah, but you miss a lot of details by not understanding what Rex has said.

It's not even obvious that we've overshot Endor in the first place!!!
