They could tear down Paradise Pier Hotel and replace it with one of these victorian Pier style indoor waterpark resort.

If the Simba lot is large enough for a waterpark, that might be a good place for one. And I think adding one close to the Disney-owned hotels might be a good "placeholder" until they're ready for a proper third gate. "Gate 2 1/2" you might call it - something to get people to stay yet longer onsite.

I also think they need to make it not just themed, as at WDW, but include at least one "water dark ride" and other features that you just can't get at, say, Raging Waters, to attract the locals.

These hotel waterparks are cool because they only service the hotel guests. Therefore aren't all that crowded. Thay could build this one large enough that it could service all the DLR hotels.

Wow, that picture of the boardwalk.... now THAT is how you build a re-creation of a pier!

The lobby looks spectacular also. And the indoor waterpark is really something cool that I feel confident will be at the DLR within 10 years. I have stayed at 3 different Waterpark resorts and we LOVE them. The crowds are small because only resort guests can use it. There is always an Adults only hot tub lagoon located somewhere close to the bar and where you can still watch the kids ride the slides. Kalahari in Sandusky has a water coaster similar to Crush n' Gusher @Typhoon Lagoon@WDW. The indoor waterpark trend started in the US at Wisconsin Dells and is speading across the country. Great Wolf Lodge started it. Now everyone including Holiday Inn are doing it. Marriot has teamed up with Nickelodeon and are planning 20 across around the world. There first will be in Orlando, but I garauntee Anahiem and Vegas are tops of the list. For DLR not to have one of these as an offering puts theme behind the curve. And an indoor waterpark makes sense because they are smaller, operate year round, and offer a MAJOR selling point and an extra $100 to all the room prices.

adding one of these as a free perk as a Disney resort guest (at an added $100 a night increase of room cost.) would easily add a day to guest stays.

DCA doesn't need that level of detail or environment. It's just fine the way it is. DCA just needs to wait for the weather to clear up, and it needs better TV commercials and better marketing. HA!
