"Get rid of the thing already."

It should not have been put in there in the first place. The fact is that this, along with the spinning building, and the mural, stuff like that? Appreciated by a couple guys on Flower Street, me, and 10 other people on the planet.

The choices made were terrible. What's even worse is this attitude we see coming from these folks who simply refuse to admit or understand what a mess the place was. And I'm talking artistically.

I actually thought it was nice when it opened, but basically everything done for tl98 is being or has been removed. Terrible decisions, and if the people who made them are going to refuse to see that, and instead call others "ignorant" who discuss why, then it's not going to get any better in the future.

You can see this with the craptacular they've got planned for DCA. Spending close to a billion dollars for some cartoons and a shopping mall.

They truly have become utterly clueless. As clueless as they were in the late 70s/early 80s when they couldn't figure out who their audiences were or why they had them.

They think that by actually putting Mickey Mouse and a Walt Disney tribute they are putting more "Walt" in the park.

They don't even know what that even means.

From post 161:

I don't believe that the WDC has imparted to you their complete plans for the future. Given that I'll predict that there will probably be more to it than "cartoons and a shopping mall" and thus end up somewhat more enjoyable (to me) than "craptacular".

Not likely they have not, no.

However, what they've disclosed already pretty much is what I said. Cartoons and a mall.

If they announce anything else, then that'd be different.

Sounds like DCA 1.0 to me.

At least with DCA 1.0 there was a good foundation to build upon. Soon, the die is cast and it will be harder to remove 2 or 3 elaborate cartoon based dark rides than it will be to remove a couple of lightly themed spinners and redress a few half themed facades.

"Sounds like DCA 1.0 to me. "

It had a different set of problems, that were compounded as time went on.

I actually liked TL98 - at least it had a consistent theme and was attempting to deliver a message. And none of the new offerings for TL98 was based on a movie, and I think based on today's standards, that was pretty gutsy. I think TL98 failed because it was built on the cheap and there wasn't enough money to see it through. The concept, IMO, was a good one. If Rocket Rods had recieved a proper budget to succeed, and the Innoventions building had received a new e-ticket, you wouldn't hear people complaining about Space Mountain being painted bronze, or the Rocket Jets being moved to the front of the land.

I would truely enjoy an update on the status of the Peoplemover and Tomorrowland. I know you and those your work with understand how to use the time and money alloted to you to give us the quality show Disney is known for.

I look forward (with anticipatation) to anything you can tell us about what is coming to Tomorrowland. Oh and by the way, Thank you very much in advance."

There is an attraction in development for the tracks. There are several reasons why an attraction has not seen the light of day sooner.

As everyone knows the tracks go in and out of several of the structures in tomorrowland. At one point ideas have been thrown around that involved removing or altering a few of these structures. If an attraction had been placed on those tracks sooner than future alterations to those structures would had created obstacles.

The land is basically being looked at and a plan being put together.
As has been mentioned before some ideas called for portions of the southern side of tomorrowland to be drastically altered which would had affected the large innovention building and old skyway building. A large chunk of the track is attached to these structures.

At themoment there are ideas that would affect the look of the star tours structure, the starcade, the Hista building and other wasted portions of the land all the way to the entrance of Autopia.

New attractions are being planned for the large piece of realestate where innovention sits, HISTA and Starcade.

As for the peoplemover yes there has een ideas thrown around including one based on the incredipods. Last i heard that idea had been placed on the back burner for several reasons. One of the main reasons being possibly capacity issues.

The last concept that was being considered was to add an updated peoplemover. There is a possibility that the attraction would have a movie connection with certain indoor show scenes but would not be connected to any animated character.

There is one major attraction being considered though that would be connected to another animated movie but that would fit the theme of the land well.
