"As for the peoplemover yes there has een ideas thrown around including one based on the incredipods."

"There is a possibility that the attraction would have a movie connection with certain indoor show scenes but would not be connected to any animated character."

"There is one major attraction being considered though that would be connected to another animated movie..."

Wow - it truly sounds like WDI is creatively bankrupt. Nothing but movie tie-ins as far as the eye can see. I know you've said in the past that there are some non-cartoon attractions planned for DCA, but so far, everything that's been rumored for both parks is based on some movie - be it animated or not.

Seriously, what is the problem here? Do they think the public will only like things that are directly tied to movies -- what about all those years of Disney Park history where the best rides had no tie-in at all?

At this point, I would expect that by the park's 75th anniversary, every attraction in the park will be tied directly to some movie...and that just doesn't sound like the type of Disneyland I would want to visit.

"Seriously, what is the problem here?"

It's obvious that management is hellbent on making the most of their film franchises worldwide. The parks host millions of people every year and Disney wants to expose people to their products to increase revenue. I don't really have a problem with this as much as I do with the public who doesn't seem to know the difference. They wouldn't keep building this stuff if people would buy into it. That silly Monsters Comedy Club (or whatever it's called) in Tomorrowland at WDW was really the last straw for me.

Be careful. You don't want to be called ignorant now, do you?

Thanks for the Tomorrowland update bean. I had no idea of the scope of the plans for the area. I am excited to watch the attractions take shape and see the land transform into more of what Disney is known for. With advances in technology that have happened since Star Tours was new (a long time I koow) we can look forward to some truely new and cutting edge attractions in the area.

Its good to know that issues with new attractions will be addressed before the new Peoplemover (or like attraction) is cemented into place and restricting the development of these attractions.

I am content to wait and watch all of the plan unfold.

This is indeed an exciting time I'm sure for imagineers as well as all of us fans.

There will always be naysayers and complainers. I will wait to actually ride attractions and view the expressions, and enjoyment (or not) of others as well as my own feelings before I make a judgement. Disney rides were meant to be ridden by families and friends not just by individuals. Disney is enjoyed by people who like to have fun together.

So, bean, as the plan unfolds I would enjoy updates as you are able to give them. Thanks again for the detailed good news!!

Is bean really Marcie in disguise? Has themeparklover somehow returned? I LOVE this thread for the simple reason that it raises such beguiling intrigues!!!

One hundred and seventyseven posts before me as I write this.

Go ahead and call me ignorant. It's only my opinion.

What has been coming out of WDI lately for Anaheim has been creatively bankrupt.

I don't want to see another attraction like Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland. I've had it with cartoon tie-ins. I don't want to see a squid faced zombie in Pirates of the Caribbean.

What the heck is wrong with WDI? Is it management? How many ex-school teachers do they still have on their payroll? And you'd think that an ex-school teacher could come up with something more educational than how a tortilla is made. The Anaheim property doesn't give me nearly half the joy it gave me ten years ago, and that's very sad.

Heads need to roll.

(notice he/she did not deny being themeparklover)

(for that matter, Marcie is the Great Denier, so a denial would be *expected* from Marcie)

(hmmmmmm)

Bean may not have the experience to have ever encountered themeparklover.

As I recall themeparklover had a very distinctive style of composition, which shone through in all of his subsequent incarnations. Bean's style doesn't fit the mold.
