Does it save any money to book as far out as possible? Who all books Disney cruises? I've seen something about AAA, costco and Disney. Do you save money by booking with others or is it just the same booking through Disney Travel by the time you buy membership to these places.

We book as far out as possible and prices have always gone up the closer to our cruise date. Disney cruises usually leave at capacity but sometimes there are cabins available due to cancellations and you could get a better price if you book closer to your cruise date, personally I don't want to chance it.
If you have children it is wiser to book as far out as you can because once the ship books enough children to fill up the kids clubs they will not take any more ressies for kids. Whether they use the clubs or not.

We've booked through AAA for $150. On- board-credit(OBC) for our 2006 cruise. We booked on-board with Disney, (To get 10% off and $200.00 OBC.), then transferred our ressie to Costco.
In doing this we'll get $725. back in costco gift cert.,(We booked 2 rooms.), when we come back from our April 2008 cruise.

We had no problem with AAA, and so far Costco is working out fine.

Check out mousesavers.com there is a travel agent that we used on our first cruise in 2003, small world travel I believe, and we had no problems with them.

Good luck!

I will be going an a 7-day cruise in April 2009 with my niece, her husband and their little one.

We've played around on the Disney site but are going to book with Uptown Cruise and Travel in Portland. My niece in San Diego is coordinating it all with their Disney Cruise specialist. One of my best friends owns this travel agency. She put us in touch with this person, Gayle. Diana has been very pleased with all the help Gayle's done for us. We are going to book the cruise through her. Because our air travel is complicated we are going to do that on our own.

I think if you have a reputable travel agency to work with you can save money. Gayle advised us to book in advance to save money.

By the way, I'm looking forward to reading the posts in this section to become more familiar with what to expect and plan for.

Thanks. I really want to try the cruise, but I'm torn because I want to go back to WDW, too. Wish I could afford both!

Deffinately book as early as possible. The cruise we booked for Dec 2008 went up almost $800 in a couple month time frame. We book through a TA and get OBC and also rebook on the cruise itself to get another.

Don't book through priceline. I did in 06 and they never booked it with disney but took my $600.00 deposit. I had called disney to check on our reservations and they didn't have them. I had to go through alot of hassle to get my $600.00 back but I did. Then we booked directly through disney with no problems.

oh and if you want to do both do the land and sea package. That's what we did in 06. It was alot of fun. We stayed at POFQ at DW, then got picked up there for the 3 day cruise.

This cruise will be a girls trip. But in 10' my son graduates and wants to go to WDW so I'm thinking of doing a land/sea thing. Isn't POFQ awesome seafairy?
