According to Al Lutz's column on MiceAge today, it appears that the rumored Ratatouille roller coaster that was supposed to replace Mulholland Madness has been shelved.

Personally, I kinda saw this coming. The idea of a roller coaster themed to a Parisian rat is obviously just too much of a stretch in a park like DCA, even moreso than the Little Mermaid, which apparently is still planned to replace Golden Dreams. However, that still leaves us with area that Mulholland now occupies. If not Ratatouille, what do you all think they might have in mind for that spot between the proposed beer garden and the new Grand Californian DVC units?

Maybe a beer themed roller coaster?

Oh, I have an idea....

Enclose the ride, put some lights in it to simulate driving along Mulholland, and keep it otherwise just as it is.

You don't have to tear it down, you don't have to make a big change. Just work with what you have to improve it.

Ratatouille is a terrific film, I preordered the dvd last week, but doesn't belong in that location. This is good news. Let them work harder, and come up with something original and suitable for the spot between the beer garden and hotel.

Or maybe Country Bears?

The story also mentions that the AA figures for Grizzly River Rapids have been put on the back burner.

Keep in mind everything is still up in the air so lets wait untill we hear the first volley of announcements.

Although personally I think the 1.2 billion is BS and nothing out of the ordinary will happen at DCA (except Carland)

Actually, I think it is BS, too. Because first, it's supposed to be over ten years, we are told, and second, after that is gone halfway, they are going to look at it again.

But I look at both of these stories, if true, to be good signs that maybe they won't waste their money on things that are bad ideas. With limited funds, you need to get the most bang for your buck. And both of these ideas were weak at best.

Both ideas? I was only talking about the Ratatouille ride. What other thing are you refering to?
