Er, maybe anyway.

Didn't actually EAT there (we'd just eaten, damn it!), but we stumbled onto this place in Shibuya somewhere far from the station (I'll probably never find it again)...it had an outdoor cafe zone and I saw the burgers and they looked AMAZING. And smelled AMAZING. And the place was packed full of people, so I imagine that they were good.

If I can find it again, I'm definitely eating there!

If not...well, at least we've got something to search for when we hang in Shibuya. :D

I seriously considered eating a second lunch...for real...but they were really BIG too (looked kinda like Outback burgers I thought).

Like I said, WD, I'm not sure if I could FIND it again.

Seriously.

We were way up in the hills back behind Tower Records and TGIFridays, out of the business zone totally (I think it was some sort of university campus maybe...strictly residential).

We were totally lost, actually, the only way we found the way back to the station is because in Shibuya if you want the station you walk downhill (as you probably know).

SO...I probably can't find it again long story short.

And even if I DO, it won't be until next year (that'll be the next time I'll be in Shibuya).

Maybe someone else can head for the TGIFridays side of the street from the station to Tower, walk down the street some more and then head up into the hills and find it.

It's a QUEST, I tell ya. A QUEST!!

(paging MagicalNezumi...MagicalNezumi please report to Shibuya for immediate quest commencement)

LOL dude, this has got to be the weirdest thread ever!

You make a thread in LP with my name on the title to say you found the best hamburger!!

But of course, you didn't taste it, you don't remember where its at NOR will you be in Shibuya again for some reason to look for it between now and Possibly next year's Presidential election?

Yeah, um, thanks for the info dude ;).

A big sized portion of food in Tokyo(not counting a noodle bowl)? Really?

Now THAT I do not believe......I would believe in the 72 virgin thing and virgin mary images on coffee cups or toast before that.

Sorry to butt in on the thread here, but lol, I'm from the old school that remembers the reputation that Japanese cuisine had for looking good but tasting mediocre, and Chinese food just the opposite.

Hmm...

That's a tough one, as I'm not a fish eater so I can't really comment on some of the most famous cuisine...but, I would say that Japanese food as a whole, is rather "simple". Not a lot of complex flavors really. But "mediocre"? I would NEVER go that far. I've had some amazing Japanese food that is by far the best food I've ever tasted (and yes I've been to China...that food was good too though).

Any Japanese food I've ever tried in AMERICA has been mediocre though fwiw.

Hey there Mr X. I used to work at that Tower Records shop back in 1995 when it first opened. And I have visited the TGI Fridays and El Torito near there in the past year. However, I don't know of the burger place you referred to in the OP. I'll have to do some investigating.

I assume the restaurant is up the hill towards the NHK Studios and Yoyogi Sports Complex right? Was it on a wide street or smaller one? -- MagicalNezumi

Yes, up the hill and slightly away from the station, somewhat near NHK Studios but not ALL the way to the top. I'd say, if you were heading up that hill towards NHK, it is somewhere off to the left a few blocks if that makes sense.

I think it was "Campus Grill" or something like that. It was on a somewhat smaller street, and like I said it seemed a more residential kind of area.

Screw it, I'm going to Shibuya tomorrow to find the danged place...it's too hard to try and describe. :p

Got plans tomorrow, MN?
