We are going for 1 day & want to get in as much as possible. We are going Wednesday 11/7. Does the Nemo ride still have a long line usually? When is the best time of day to ride it. We have never been on it so we can't wait. THANKS :o)

We were there Wednesday, October 24th. We got in line at 7:00 pm (right when the parade was beginning) and we got off the ride at 8:00. The CM said the wait was 45 minutes and with the ride time of about 14 minutes that's about right. It was 90 minutes mid-day Friday, but I would guess that the evening would be you best bet, though other times might be OK too. Best might be to get in line right before closing and extend you Disney day by a little bit instead of waiting during normal operating hours when you could be riding other rides with shorter lines.

By the way, Wednesday and Thursday were walk-on to 10 minute waits for many popular rides at times. Indy, Thunder Mountain, HM, Pirates, etc. If you don't see a line ride it. We got a fastpass for Indy becuase the board said 35 minutes and the line was in the queue outside the temple, but when we went back an hour later with our fastpass, we didn't need it. It was a 10 minute wait.

Bobiascastle, my advice DON'T do it at morning! Based on all the reports, that seems to be the longest wait. I would just do it in the evening OR if you can wait, do it at the end of the day before closing. Lines seem to be around an hour or less now.

^^agree!! We went to check it out both Fri and Sat(with early entry). The wait was 120 minutes. It did die down later. We never made it on. Not a priority for teenagers.

My family and I had this same dilemma when planning our trip and the folks on LP.com were really helpful in advising us, so now's my time to return the favor! We were just there Sat & Sun 10/20 - 10/21. Like you, we had limited time to tour the park and it was our first time taking our young son, so we wanted to cram as much in a possible.

So, here's the rub. The first 90 minutes the park is open is your prime time to go on attractions with very little wait time. So, you will want to get in line 45 - 60 min's before the park opens to be one of the first through the turnstiles. If you end up in a long line for Nemo first thing in the morning, by the time you get off Nemo (long ride, about 15 minutes), you will have burned that precious early morning advantage, and you'll have much longer lines at other attractions.

Also, is Wed an early entry day? If so, by the time you get to Nemo, all the early entry people will be ahead of you. If it's not an early entry day, you should have a fighting chance if you get in line an hour early and sprint to the subs as fast as your legs can carry you. Go to the left of the Matterhorn (not through Tomorrowland) and turn right just after Matterhorn and the line for the subs starts there (CM's should be there to point the way and laugh at you while you run). Most people go through Tomorrowland, not realizing that the line starts way further back and they end up having to re-route to the end of the line!

So, you sort of have to figure out what you want to prioritize--if Nemo is your priority, you should be OK if you are one of the first through the gates and you RUN like hell (we did this on Sunday and were on the subs in 15 minutes, AND we had a stroller we were pushing, too), but the price might be longer lines at other attractions after you get off Nemo.

Or, you can just try to hit Nemo later in the day and use the early morning to go on everything else you want to go to...but my experience is that the line for Nemo stays pretty jammed most of the day so you will probably end up waiting an hour or so. If you don't have young kids with you, one long wait for a ride during your day there should be bearable if you made good use of the morning and went on lots of other attractions with little wait time.

The other thing that will help is to take advantage of FASTpass. Get a FASTpass for something as soon as you enter the park and once your return window arrives, pick up another FASTpass for something else as soon as you can. You don't actually have to return to ride during the return window time period--you can ride anytime between the return time and the end of the day. So, you can be holding a handful of FASTpasses for different attractions to "spend" whenever you want to throughout the day. The best use of the morning is to ride those rides that don't have FASTpass and using your saved up FASTpasses to bypass the long lines at FASTpass attractions in the afternoon.

By getting to the park an hour before opening and using the FASTpass system to our advantage, we managed to get through the weekend without waiting longer than 15 minutes for any ride. If you haven't yet, you might want to pick up an "Unofficial Guide to Disneyland" that has lots of great advice on how to beat the crowds!

Hope that helps--have a great time!!! :-)

This is what I was going to add. Right now, the early entry days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
