Variety are reporting that the movie has hauled approximately $15m on Wednesday and Thursday heading into the weekend:

The Wednesday number was great, but a drop on Thursday was a little dissapointing. I doubt it will have much baring on the eventual legs this film will get though, especially considering the very positive word of mouth it seems to be getting.

Enchanted had a rather interesting choice of release dates, as movies usually come out the week before Thanksgiving. Not sure if that will hurt it's eventual gross or not. Right now it looks like it's headed toward a 50+ million five day weekend, which is quite good. With an opening like that, a total gross of $180+ million plus should be in the cards.

I wouldn't worry much about the Thursday drop as I don't believe that Thanksgiving is typically a very big movie-going day.

I have a hunch the word-of-mouth is going to be exceptionally positive on this film and that it is also pretty likely to get a fair amount of repeat viewing. The opening weekend is likely to be very good, but I suspect it will retain very well over the coming weeks.

This looks like the repeat movie of the holidays. We are already scheduled to see it twice.

It is actually, and it is unusual that a new movie would drop on Thanksgiving. However, again I don't think that it will mean too much in the long term. Early unconfirmed reports are that Enchanted will be quite big on Friday (in the 10-13 million) range.

Boxofficemojo has reported $14.4 million for Friday night. That is a 111% increase from Thursday. Total for the weekend so far is $29.3 million. That's not including Saturday and Sunday.

Wow.

ORWEN: This seems to be a really good year for Disney and Pixar movies--for the most part. We all had the little rat that could and now the pretty princess who stood--up to her competition, I mean...

Variety are reporting that Enchanted did $50m in the five days since opening on Wednesday - one of the best Thanksgiving takes ever.

The LA Times article I read said that Enchanted is second only to Toy Story 2 in all time Thanksgiving Box office.
