And remember, these are the clips Disney WANTS you to see. |

*gasp* ...
I enjoyed the show and would see it again. Tarzan was awful.
Lee - I am surprised you hated it that much. Really?!?! I thought is was all very clever. wow... My only comment was it felt a bit crammed on the stage.
I felt this show was worth seeing. YOu get your money's worth - no doubt.
Little Mermaid does feel more like a kid show where as LION KING felt more adult and spiritual. Mermaid is a fun fairy tale - leave it at that.

I really did. I want those two and a half hours of my life back. I honestly cannot believe how bad it truly was. Hopefully my full review will explain.
And to compound a truly miserable week in NYC we managed to miss our connection and so didn't get to go to the last night of Mary Poppins in London on Saturday. I would happily have swapped Mermaid for that. |

Sadly I nver got around to seeing Mary Poppins before it left either.
But I will try to see Sister Act when it comes to London later this year, and I am considering a trip to the continent to see Tarzan.
I thought B&B was cool, and Lion King is my favorite stage show ever. It sounds like the rest of Disney, Stage Productions seem to have lost their way as well. |

Dave - Mary Poppins is touring the UK beginning this Spring - you really should see it.
Sister Act was a lot of fun - I thought the music/lyrics were far better than the new Mermaid stuff. I'm glad Peter Schneider has found a home for it in London as the West End needs more originals and less imports. |

Sister Act sounds like fun! |

Sister Act was fun. Silly fun. Much like the movie. Plus I never thought I would ever hear Menken write disco. The closing number (Mirrorball) is just pure magic.
The most exciting thing about The Little Mermaid was hearing Stephen Schwartz tell us that Hunchback of Notre Dame is definitely back on with a new librettist and director. That one I can't wait for. Should be ready for '09. |

| davewasbaloo Sun 1/13/2008 6:36a | Oh WOW - I had heard rumour of Hunchback coming to London. If it does, I am so there! |

| leemac Sun 1/13/2008 6:39a | ^^ No home for it yet. I suspect it will depend on how well TLM sells (at present tickets are only available through to the summer) and whether MP has legs at the NewAm (it is being discounted at present - although still doing decent numbers). |

| Mr X Sun 1/13/2008 7:26a | **But then how come New York critics loved Lion King?**
It was awesome, and very unique for its' time.
**The idea that critics have something against Disney is laughable.**
Not laughable.
I think saturation plays a big role, I'm sure they resent it.
Spending a couple days around times square last month, it really did feel as though everywhere you turned was a new advertisement for some Disney musical or another. |
