| TP2000 Sun 12/2/2007 10:20p | The "Peace On Earth" thing is how they light the facade with all the Christmas lights at sundown.
They don't just turn on the lights all of a sudden. There's a little show that goes with it, and the Voice of Disneyland booms out over the Small World Mall area and tells everyone to look at Small World and make a wish for peace on earth. Then everyone counts down and on "1" the facade bursts to life with all the lights and the Small World theme song booms out over the PA system in that part of the park. It's a cute little thing.
They do a similar show to light up the Haunted Mansion at dusk also, and it's very clever and fun.
Leave it to Disneyland to make a show out of turning on the lights, but that's what they do. |

| Dabob2 Mon 12/3/2007 6:52a | Well, now I guess I know all about the two small world lighting shows. I'll try to catch both in a couple of weeks. Thanks. |

| DlandDug Mon 12/3/2007 8:08a | I do have to mention that last night they were not running the 15 minute light show. The usual doll parade went off every 15 minutes (with March of the Wooden Soldiers), but this was not followed by the peppy little facade light show.
Hope that confuses things further! |

| gaydsnywitch Mon 12/3/2007 9:44a | The 15 minute light show was intermittent all through the weekend. We saw it happening as we passed by on the monorail, but when part of the group walked over to watch the next one, it didn't happen. Then later it was working again. One time the lights went off but the projections didn't work. Later it was all working. So, if you don't see it one time, try again later. |

| Dabob2 Mon 12/3/2007 2:07p | I can picture it now... trying to see it at, say, 6:15. Clock show happens, no lights.
We go on another couple of rides. At 7:30 we emerge from Alice to see the very last of the lighting effects on SW in the distance, knowing we just missed the thing.
We hang around till 7:45 just to see it. The clock show happens, but no light show.
We give up and go to FrL. As we emerge from Big Thunder we realize the timing is all wrong to see the one that we vaguely hear in the distance is just ending... |

| dresswhites Fri 12/7/2007 10:36p | more report on the projection show, last night friday night, they did a projection show around 7pm. however the lights didn't come on after the show! it was kind of funny actually. the lights didn't come back on until about 5 or 6 minutes later. it was really dark in the area for those 5 or 6 minutes! then after the next 15 minute toy parade, they didn't do the projection show. we are all joking that perhaps they didn't want to take the chance again of lights not coming back on!! then for the snow show, (fireworks cancelled) small world went dark, no projections. i wonder why they are having so much trouble with the projctions this year. anyone know? |
