I was in line for Indy the weekend it opened. At one point it broke down and took about 2-3 hours for it to come back on line. Luckily my friends and I were in the projector room and just sat on the floor and watched the show over and over. Also, if you remember, we were all given the key to decifer the markings on the walls, so we did that as well. A lot of people left, and they made several announcements that the ride would be down for an extended amount of time, but we waited it out, and it was sooooo worth it. Not sure if I would do that again for that period of time, but it was fun at the time.

I remember the lines when Indy opened. They were 4-hours long!

There's plenty more I could be doing than standing in line for an indeterminate amount of time. I'll go have fun and come back later.

Did you ever wonder about the family that could always be found by the sub lagoon? They were a family from Bakersfield who were in line when the Submarine Voyage shut down in '98, who decided to wait it out, and after waiting there almost a decade, got to be the first guests on the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

Depends on so many factors:

How long have you already waited? 60 minutes? 3 minutes?

What time of day is it? Is the park going to close in 45 minutes?

How busy is the park? Can you do something else without waiting another hour? Did you want a rest anyway?

Can you get any information about what is really wrong? For example, on Autopia, if the street lights don't turn on at night automatically, they shut down until they are turned on (a 5-10 minute downtime, and very rarely happens). However, if Pirates needs to evacuate, that alone could take more than an hour when they had to use waders and drag the boats (my understanding is they don't have to do this anymore, and the process is quicker). So if you can get information, that helps, though I realize usually you can't.

How much do you love the Attraction? Do you have more days of vacation left? Can you talk a CM into a backdoor pass to compensate for your time? Can you see vehicles cycling, even if empty? Are there any emergency responders in sight?

All these make a difference.

Each circumstance has to be individually evaluated. If I think the wait is going to be more than probably 20 to 30 minutes, I usually will go. But never say always.

Hey out numbered mom, my best friend and I were also in line for Indy except we were in the small room with the large stone. We also waited the 3-4 hours using our decoder :-) It was worth the wait.

Totally worth the wait, and it was nice and cool in line. I also remember everyone who stayed in line and was sitting on the floor (just about the whole room) was so cool and relaxed. It was really a lot of fun.
