Also I think Mary Poppins and the chimney sweeps were part of the Christmas parade.

Mmmmm.

I remember when the characters from the Christmas Carol float would hand out song sheets to the crowd. Everyone would sing along, and have a nice souvenir to take home.

The parade that I saw was at night, so the light rumor is out. I saw it last week at night as well, and they had them like "normal." If you really want to see Mary and Bert, they come down the parade route with the Grand Marshall for the day. While technically not part of the Christmas parade, they are still kind of there (I don't think they were really dancing though, maybe just an occasional choreographed moved with a lot of waving).

I used to love the parades. Now I think parade time is a great time to hop on rides with less wait. The streets are clogged with parade onlookers and the rides are practically empty.
Call me kooky but I don't care for the parade anymore. I was just there last week and tried to watch the parade once. After a few minutes I thought, Nahhhh, no more, please! The song is so old too. Please new music at least! And like other posters have said above, bring back the most beloved old characters to tug at the heartstrings of the parents, mixed in with the new characters.

While I don't mind the music itself, I really don't like how it clearly comes to an end. Every minute or so, the music hits a big finale, then silence for a couple seconds. To start the music again, we hear chimes hitting four notes, and it comes back to the intro. They could reuse the same theme for the song, but a different arrangement would do them wonders. I really like how the POD music only clearly stops at the end of the show stops (where it's pretty clear that it has come to a finale of sorts). With a finale every time you see a different group of performers in front of you, it becomes a little exhausting to watch the whole thing. If they could re-arrange the same song so it looped better, I think the parade would be greatly improved, based on that alone.

To each their own. I love a good parade and the Christmas Fantasy Parade is a winner with great music that I never tire of. I will be there 4 days next week and watch the parade both shows every single day. 8 times the fun and enjoyment.

ORWEN: I love the Christmas parade music at Disneyland, too, GML SKIS, duckling. It's the prettiest parade music for any of the Disney parks, as far as this cauldron girl is concerned.
