I think most people trade pins w/o the card. The card may be nice to have if it has a picture that is specifically meant for the pin. As for the condition of the pin ...most people would like the least amount of imperfections but pins are not like collectible sports cards or even Beanie Baby tags. The very nature of the pin makes them prone to paint flaws or scratches. Large black areas are especially troublesome. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I like pins small enough to wear.
23	-em Mon 9/22/2008 10:51p	I agree with Poohbear14- there are very few pin traders who only collect on card pins (as that would eliminate most trading with cast members and the majority of guests...) I never keep the black cards, I have most of the special cards for specific pins but never keep them together but if for some reason needed it I do have them... I also keep 95% of my collection on cork boards where space is at a premium (hence why I still have 4 piles of pins on my floor since the pin event 2 weeks ago..) and if I had to keep them on the backers- Id have NO wall space... Condition is in the eye of the beholder... If you plan to trade them and your pin has a major flaw- its polite to mention it up front, pins arnt perfect and some flaws are expected. In my own collection I have pins that have chips, dents, replaced backs, etc but since they are in my permanent collection I dont care.. If you are looking at it as a future investment- I would stop now and find something else.. The pin market is crazy weird to figure out what will be popular what won't and very few pins have ever hit the 100+ market, most end up with a value of less than 4 bucks to try to sell them off... For all anyone knows they may become the next beanie babies...
24	davewasbaloo Tue 9/23/2008 1:09a	Wow, I only just spotted this one. I have been a prolific patch/badge/pin collector my whole life, so when Disney joined in and upped the ante, I naturally upped my expenditure. Thankfully I calmed down now (1st year of pin trading, I had to have very release even though I hate Pooh, and many were Pooh. Now, I but what I like, typically 7 or so a trip. I collect the following: Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor Attractions I love Restaurants I love Special Events or Parades I love Maleficent/Churnabog/Jessica Rabbit/LGMs from Toy Story Theatrical Productions such as Lion King Others that catch my eye. I have three pin bags full now with the most from DLP, several from DL (bought 82 pins in 2002!!!!) and a few pages from WDW, and misc from TDL, HKDL, the Cruiseline and productions. Sarah and the kids have collections too. Thankfully, I did not go mad on our last trip to DLP 3 x 2008 pins (one each for the kids and one for us) 2 ToT Paris pins 1 Stitch Live Pin Replenished my 15th anniversary stock for traders. Mikey bought the Wall E pin set with his own money.
25	AngelJD Wed 9/24/2008 8:11a	I collect: Downtown Disney Pins, Polynesian Resort Pins, World of Disney NYC Pins, Gadget Hackwrench (from Rescue Rangers) pins (so for not a big collection due to almost no pins in creation), Most characters from the Disney Afternoon (once again not a very big collection), Lilo pins, and Dopey Pins. I also might get anything that catches my eye (it has to be very well made and not show signs of photoshop) and has a reasonable price.

Has anyone seen a Mr. Toad Pins? I wish I'd got the Monster Inc Laugh Floor pin.DD & I got up on the screen for "cutest Mother/Daughter couple>>>
