I also confess that (1) I'm bummed I don't have a Valentine for tomorrow and (2) I'm touched the neighbor brought her girls over to give my girls a Valentine goody bag. I, in turn, gave each of them a cupcake that I bought for DD's class (we had extras!)

Thu 2/14/2008 5:02p | Uh, MissC, you know I love your right? But VD is not a Hallmark holiday. It dates back to pagen times. The women would write a note to the man they desired into a jar. The men would pick up and read the notes. Couples paired off.
Then there's the modern version of origin, in which the Catholic church blended the pagen ritual with the story of St. Valentine. |
