Okay, you threw me off with that one. You don't mean movies you can start and stop at will, right?

That's the big difference I've seen between business and economy. Continental also offers a selection of personal videos in economy, but they run in a loop (still very, VERY cool for a long flight of course).

Anyway, sounds like JAL is a great carrier. I've certainly enjoyed my ANA experiences, but those were in business class so I can't comment on economy (I can comment plenty on economy for United and Continental though lol).

AFAIK, all 777 operators have individual, multi-channel video screens in all cabins. The ones in coach usually have a dozen or so channels that play in loops, although I think that at least one airline now has AVOD even in coach (AVOD = Advanced Video On Demand). This is a big difference from 747's, which on many carriers only have a shared screen at the front of each economy cabin.

The Virgin Atlantic flights I always use when flying into Tokyo from London, always have ind video on-demand services. This includes a selection of about a 100 differnt movies, tv channels, Games and music. The system allows you to pause and fast forward or rewind anything you like. Only problem with using this system is that if its being used by everyone at once, it can be very slow. This is included on Economy flights, althrough I don't think its been rolled out on all Virgin fleets yet.

Very cool, Malin!

I've heard good things about Virgin Atlantic.
