Anyone here watch it? I do and I can't wait for the new season to start next Friday the 11th. On New Years day there was a marathon running which really got me interested in the new season. Has anyone seen the commercials for it?

I LOVE Monk! I didn't know he was coming back next week. Thank you for letting me know! (I haven't watched anything on tv this week b/c of the holidays and all, until tonight and I didn't see any commercials for it.)
I have two sons with Autism and they both have OCD. (One worse than the other.) The boys have so many "Monk Moments" I like to call them. ie. The other day my one son didn't want me to drive the car until the air vents (for heat and a/c) were all aligned perfectly. I thought that was something Monk would do!

I had a friend who forced me a couple of times, and I've been ordering up the DVDs on Netflix ever since. Funny show, but I'm NOT happy about the Sharona situation. Made me run to wikipedia for some answers!

I love Monk! I'm a little worried though. Almost everything he does makes perfect sense to me.

I never did hear much about Sharona leaving other than it was due to "contract disputes". Part of me always wondered if Sharona was getting too popular and Tony Shalhoub didn't want to share the limelight. Does anyone know anything more.

wiki tells all. They did a whole episode w/no one BUT Monk, just to show everyone else was expendable. Stupid little games, at the expense of the show. Look up the whole story.

I love this show, but I thought this last season was a little off. They relied too heavily on guest stars, IMHO. I watch Monk to see Monk, not Snoop Dog.

EXCEPT, the episode where Monk has "the talk" with Julie. That was hilarious and touching all at once. When he told Julie how he knew that he loved Trudy, it was one of the few moments that rang true in the entirety of last season for me.

Tinkerbell no problem and your sons sound adorable! JDub the same thing happened to me except it was my dad he told me about the show and said I have to watch it and now I am hooked!

As far as Sharona I loved the character she was great but I am also a big fan of Natalie now too. They are both different and play their respective roles very well. Its like on Soaps when they change a character at first it takes some time to get used to them but after a while they become your favs. I just think they are both great and it is normal to not be used to any new character but Natalie has been on for a while now and I have to say she is very enjoyable.

When it comes to guest stars I think they are fun. The new episode this Friday will have Howie Mandel and you know that has to be a funny episode.

I don't mind guest stars, in general. And I'm excited about Howie Mandel. It's just that guest stars, IMO, are best enjoyed in small doses.

One thing I like about Monk is that almost every episode is a "very special episode". They've been intentionally jumping the shark since Season 1, and it cracks me up. I really can't wait for things to get going again.

OMG, Howie Mandell! This should be a good episode! Is he playing himself? Too funny!

I miss Sharona, too. I think my all time fav. episode was the one where she and Monk were pretending to be married at some Bed + Breakfast place. It's been so long since it was on, I'm trying to remember, but I think they were getting "marriage counseling" while they were there. It was a riot.

My other, more recent fav. episode is the one where he was blind...and he loved being blind!

No Howie will not be playing himself from the promos it looks like he is the head of some cult maybe?! Either way I know it will be a hoot. My favorite episode was when Willie Nelson was on and Monk had to do a solo but could not play because someone put their mouth on his instrument! It was amazing! I can't wait for Friday.
