I have an airfare question. I'm looking at end of Dec. 12/27 or 12/28 and returning on 1/4/09.

Most of the time I find them about $200 pp and now they are $400 pp. Southwest has nor yet open booking for that time.

Should I wait for Southwest to open up booking? Or try and book now?

Any tips? We will fly from Albany or Newburgh, NY or Newark, NJ.

Thanks

Youch! Is that because of the holiday season or the price of gas? We're flying SW on Tuesday for $204.

I think a little of both.

If the prices for the different airlines are close I would suggest using SW because they are very easy to make changes or cancel with no penalties. I am fed up eith the penalties I have been charged by AA and Midwest. My business usually goes to SW for this reason.

I would love to see airfare for under umm 400... Course I am the opposite- I fly out of MCO :)

My "west trip" is actually not bad of a price.. RT from MCO to either SLC or LAX was between 430 and 450.. I got a 3 legged trip MCO to SLC (to visit the family) then SLC to LAX (Disneyland!) then back to MCO for 480 for July 22-30

I remember the days I got RT from Orlando to Salt Lake for 200 RT...

Just be careful if anyone decides to use American, they are now charging $15 for the first bag, per person. They say it is to help offset the deisel prices.

You can wait for Southwest to open up but I don't think you'll find a refreshing surprise. We flew Southwest from Hartford to Orlando on Dec. 27, 2007. Cost was $520 round trip. Much more than I like to pay, but there were no better deals to be had at other airports or other carriers. I'm sure it's the time of year.

I just booked from Oregon Alaska for Sept 3 months out - amazing the plane (viewing seats available) is almost full.

I usually go SW but I want a reserve seat and I don't want to stand in line poles again.

Last year I was upset ~ as soon as I booked SW for a really nice rate compared to Alaska ~ within a week Alaska dropped their rate to about the same with no connections and earlier arrival time. BUT who wants to take changes waiting.....not me.

:O)))

Flew SW, it was good. Just call as close to 24 hours before flight for your boarding passes. For return flight, guest services at your hotel or any park, will print them out for you. You just need your confirmation #.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
