Same Dabob2 - the Hollywood part is my favorite before the 24 are picked.

I think Hollywood week is the most interesting, too.

>What annoyed me last night was the "Stuck in the Middle" montage. They obviously had TOLD all the bad singers to sing that song - maybe even taught it to some of them, since many were too young to know it, probably.<

ALL of the montages are like this. They teach the song to bad singers, don't give them enough time to learn the song, then laugh at them when they don't get it right. I think the montages are the worst part of the audition shows.

>... that is why I usually DVR it and start watching an half hour after it starts. I go through the commercials and silly montages that I have no interest in.<

I do the same thing, skipping over the sob stories and all the background for people I don't really care about. If the person makes it further in the competition, we'll see all of those back stories again, anyway. And I'm getting to where I skip over most of the bad auditions, too!

I felt a bit cheated by the very last audition show, where they promoted the best and the worst. It was ok for what it was, but it was just more of the same - in no way was it the best or the worst.

There was an article in my paper this am about Idol and they had a link to see the top 24 finalists. (Rumored, it says on the site.) I'll post it if anyone wants a peek. (I doubt if it's true, but, we'll find out tomorrow!)

it was

go.philly.com/ idol24

(I left the space in case there were posts on the site that were inappropriate.)

I've heard that the Top 24 have been leaked too. I haven't looked and won't but I can tell you two that will definitely be in. And I'll tell you later.

I'll have to take a peek now to see if any of the top 50 are in the list on that site.

I missed the group thing this year. Did anyone else?

Does anyone else think the girl from Ireland looks like Boy George? My DH doesn't agree and the kids don't know who he is. Also, her tongue was blue, and we were wondering if people are getting tongues tattooed now. DS said she probably had some blue candy before she sang. (But, every time?)

I'm glad they're letting them play instruments this time around. I wonder if that is just for this week or if they'll let them play throughout the competition. I like to see if they are more talented but I wonder if their playing may be more distracting than helpful.

There are some really good singers in this field. I am looking forward to seeing if they've got some depth to their talent. David Archeletta (sp?) and the Australian guy that sang Bohemian Rhapsody stand out to me right now. There are a few of the girls too but I didn't catch their names.
