| RoadTrip Tue 4/1/2008 8:06p | I thought that there were no real losers tonight... everyone performed pretty well.
I thought David Cook's haircut was MUCH improved.
Kristy Lee Cook continues to display her strengths and sings pretty well too.
Carly can't catch a break from Simon no matter WHAT she does. I think Simon just hates women with tattoos... first Amanda, now Carly.
My favorite remains David Cook even though in some ways I would prefer NOT liking him.

| Lisann22 Tue 4/1/2008 8:21p | David Cook just performed here PST. He is cocky as all get out but he seriously might be the best performer on Idol ever. Seriously. |

Agreed. The question is if it is being cocky when you REALLY ARE that good. He does seem to be a little more humble lately, so I'm sure he has heard about the cocky rap.

| Lisann22 Tue 4/1/2008 8:28p | That's why I try not to let it bother me. When you are good at something sometimes unintentionally your confidence comes off as arrogance. |

As you've probably figgered out, the problem is not with your dvr but with Fox running over the end time for the show. I really HATE it when they do that1 But you might have noticed that they were really scrambling for the last 10 minutes or so to try to get back on time, but still went long.
And I think Ramielle and Christy are in trouble tonight . . .

Our DVR also stopped short, or the time went over. Either way, I said to DH "OK, I'm not liking Michael tonight, so watch, they'll fall all over themselves praising him"............yep.
I thought they all did quite well with what they chose. I had to zap through Dolly. I like her well enough, she is a hoot on talk shows but her many lifts remind me of my father in law's ex wife. Yowza. I did cringe a bit when I realized what Sayasha (sp) chose to sing. She gave it a good shot but I dunno. |

| Jim in Merced CA Wed 4/2/2008 10:48a | Good performances last night...
Michael Johns -- excellent. He's got a really great style and fantastic range. He's like Jim Morrison, without all the baggage.
David Cook -- sure, he's a bit cocky, but with this guy, it doesn't bother me. He's a rocker, so can't be too modest. Right? And he knocked out a song about a sparrow.
Carly Smithson -- I liked her tonight --her voice sounded really strong and clear. I don't mind her tattoo, but she sure works hard to produce her notes.
Performances I was indifferent about.
Jason Castro -- This guy is talented, and he did well tonight. He comes across so self-effacing, that it's hard to stay engaged when he's singing.
Kristy Lee Cook -- She's been squeaking by for weeks. She has the same treatment of every song. It's just not enough.
Brooke White -- She's okay. I appreciate her talent of playing piano and guitar. But she needs to ratchet it up. Don't know if she has it. And you talk about David Cook being cocky. She kept talking back to the judges. She even said 'Paula, I love your hair.' Whassupwidat?
Performances I didn't like
David Archuleta. -- To me, he's a bit of a one trick pony. It's a good trick, don't get me wrong. But, he reminds me of Josh Grobin. It's the same soaring voice on every song. It gets boring.
Ramiele Malubay -- She's very bland to me. Not enough 'umph!' -- she could be in danger of going home. Did Simon mention a good cruise ship performance? I agree.
Syesha Mercado -- She sang a not-so-great copy of Whitney Houston singing 'I Will Always Love You.' Like the judges say, unless you can do something different, or sing it with just as much power, [Jennifer Hudson singing 'And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going] you have to not do these songs. I really liked Syesha going into the finals, but she lacks connection to the songs.
Going home this week -- Ramiele Malubay or Kristy Lee Cook |

| Lisann22 Wed 4/2/2008 11:06a | Michael Johns: Loved this performance! Thought it one of his best even over the tired We Are The Champions. It was gritty and meater with a bit more soul than I think he's done before AND it wasn't overproduced.
David Cook: He nailed it again. I already wrote my comments about him during the show. The dude can rock.
Carly Smithson: I like Carly she reminds me of Enya. To me she should be doing jazz, not rock.
Jason Castro: Just continues to be blah for me. I thought it was his best performance so far in that be stretched beyond the sitting around the campfire or in the coffeehouse style singing.
Kristy Lee Cook: DO NOT LIKE HER !
Brooke White: Yeah, the sassiness with the judges ain't cute to me. Take your constructive criticism and shut up. She is also very bland to me. I think her voice has a uniqueness to it but she's boring.
David Archuleta: "But, he reminds me of Josh Grobin. It's the same soaring voice on every song. It gets boring"
You are SO on the money here!
Ramiele Malubay: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz, she's this years Paris. Too young to be singing these songs, trying to act all grown up. Just doesn't fly for me.
Syesha Mercado: Why do I want to like her so much but she keeps on somehow blowing it? I think at the beginning of the song she did try to make it her own. She changed the wording and sync around a tad. It was good but as soon as she went for the big final part of the song it just died. <sigh> The lack of connection to her songs is a good point Jim.
I don't care who goes home as long as its not Michael or David C. The rest its a big shoulder shrug for me once again.
