Btw those of you who watch the Office could you see David Cook singing That One Night from last week's episode?

Tonight's show was interminable for me. I am not a fan of Mariah Carey and found the songs to be draggy and maudlin. Simon had it right when he said at the begining that there would not be a lot of laughs tonight. The only one I liked was "Without You" but that is a Harry Chapin song, not a Mariah Carey song. (grrrrr)

This season just has no momentum...

Not a huge Mariah Carey fan here either. Some songs yes, but most no. I noticed that most of the songs had the same words sung over and over and over.

I kind of liked Brooke tonight. Kind of a Carly Simon, Carol King feel.

LOL, DAR about That One Night :)

< but that is a Harry Chapin song>

Harry Nilsson... and actually before he had the hit on it, it was an album track by Badfinger (!).

David Cook is growing on me. Maybe it was his brother being there, but that was genuine emotion, and really touching.

I didn't really like David Cook at first but lately, he seems less smug and just more talented. I am even starting to think he should win.

Argh! You are absolutely right - I meant Nilsson. I plead my brain was fried after watching that show.

DlandJB, actually you helped DH and I play a little guessing game. Last night it was driving him nuts as to who did the "original" version. He kept thinking "Bread" but knew it was wrong. So today after reading your post, I asked him if it was Harry Chapin, he said "no." Which made me google the song and then drive him nuts making him guess :) "Badfinger" popped up as the first recording and then Harry Nilsson.

I only watched the last ten minutes. Kristy Lee finally goes home last night which was about 6 weeks too late. Which is something I don't understand. You keep her on when she sucks. But Tuesday she's actually good and gets voted out??? She wasn't going to win nor did she deserve to. Plus that was awesome when she was singing to Simon at the end.

I never expected Kristy to be in the final three or four, but I thought she would get through this round. As DAR mentioned her singing seemed to be getting better and ya gotta admit... she was cuter than heck and had a fun personality.

I find everything about Brooke boring; her singing, her personality, her looks. I was pretty amazed that she was not the one going home last night.

At this point there is no suspense until we get to the final two. Everyone has to know right now that the winner will be David. The only question is which one. If there is any justice in this world it will be David Cook.
