So many of the contestants last night were just plain disturbing.

I probably shouldn't say something so mean like that though seeing as how we are all "brotherrrrrrssss forEVERrrrrrrrrr."

I actually hate the fact that they intentionally pass through bad singers (remember, they go through an audition/vetting process long before they see Randy, Paula, and Simon) just so we the audience can laugh at them. It's cruel. If they pass the initial auditions, they've been set up thinking they're pretty good, and they've been set up to be laughed at.

The Paula "stalker" guy and the last "Brothers forever" guy I don't mind so much, because they're in on the joke. When they intentionally set up people to be the butt of the joke, I think it's downright sadistic. Yeah, yeah, they put themselves out there when they decided to audition in the first place, but have a heart guys - tell them "no" at the initial audition and don't make them embarrass themselves before millions of people for our cruel amusement.

I watch these early shows to see little glimpses of the talent that may emerge later.

The 18 year old who could do the spot-on Britney Spears and finally sang like herself could be one to watch.

<<WE'RE BROTHERS FOREVER!!!!! YOU ARE MY BROTHER AND WE'RE BROTHERS FOREVER!!!! Instant. Classic.>>

AHHHHH! My family and I kept singing this for the rest of the night. I laughed when Simon asked him at the end "What's the name of this song?" LOL

Was he? He seemed awfully sincere.

The guy who "sang" Livin on a Prayer was he going to throw up? That was just bizzare.

<Was he? He seemed awfully sincere.>

He could have been sincere AND in on the joke. After all, he could sing fairly well, and he might have just wanted to get his brotherhood-message song out there to the masses.

But if he's ever watched the show before, he should know that no "silly costume" guy has ever been passed through. So he could have known full well they weren't going to pass him through, yet he still got national TV exposure; thus, in on the joke and sincere at the same time.

The roller coaster enthuisast, genuinely likeable guy, terrible singer of course. His comments at the end of his segmentshattered the unintentional comedy barrier: "Simon didn't come down on me as hard as I thought. And he usually goes down on everybody."
