The 2 Davids? Personally I think that David A is more in the line of who would be perfect for the the American Idol CD purchasing crowd. Young and younger teens with mom and dad still footing the bill. His voice is beautiful so listening to him wouldn't be terrible for the rest of the family either :) David C is great but I think may do better without AI.
I agree that being the top Idol isn't always the best. Quite a few of the top 6 have done quite well for themselves.
I thought Fantasia's performance was hysterical in more ways than one :) |

Whereas for ME, if David A wins I'm done with this show. |

Gee, thanks April. YOu've brought back my traumatic memory of Duran Duran being killed this year on AI. *sigh*
Bad April, bad! Bad, bad, bad! :P |

Other than that, it was good to see my 2 favorite contestants performing. If I were to vote based on the performances, David A. wins hands down. But my votes still went to David C. - I just like his sound and style much better. And Simon nailed it - if he'd performed Billy Jean, he would have rocked the dump. I thought his voice sounded great, but I also think he was overwhelmed by the live crowd. He hinted several times at his mood, and the fact that he was not really competing, just trying to have a good time. And that was the difference - David A. was still competing.
I'll be happy if David C. wins, but I don't expect it.

Both David's seemed a little "shell shocked" during the night. DH and I weren't sure after the first judging if David A was going to make it through the rest of his songs. He seemed fine while singing and then looked unsteady.
The rumble thing was annoying but not as much as some of the other goofy stuff they've used. Andrew Loyd Weber on the other hand, smacko, let the kid close his eyes if he wants to, he is singing not acting, sheesh.

| Tinkerbell819 Wed 5/21/2008 10:15a | I didn't see the show until about 2/3 of the way through last night. I was disgusted at how the judges seemed to be throwing David C. "under the bus." I didn't bother to rewind and watch the beginning b/c DH said it was much of the same. As soon as the announcement was made what David A's last song was, I was done. Been there, heard that...wasn't impressed the first time. Maybe during the course of the show I should have tried to just listen to David A. sing and he might not have annoyed me as much. I didn't like the way he always looked like he was in pain while he was performing.
