1	Mickeymouseclub Thu 1/17/2008 6:08p	Bill Worley,University of Mo.professorand Kansas City Historian will perform next Wed at the Central Library (6:30 p.m.). reservations are recommended and available at kclibrary.org.From 1919 to 1923 Walt Disney worked for the Pesman-Rubin Commercial Art Studio and the Kansas City Slide(later known as the Kansas City Ad) before founding Laugh-O-Gram Films. I plan to attend this performance and will give a report to LP. Sounds interesting...are their any other local LPers?

4	Mickeymouseclub Sun 1/20/2008 12:21p	My computer has not worked all weekend...I have posted the newspaper article in front of my nose so I won't forget on Wed. night to attend. I am nervous about parking in downtown K.C. and walking to my car at night. I guess I am the only Walt/LP fan in the area.Now I am curious to see how well attended this event will be.
5	Mickeymouseclub Thu 1/24/2008 7:43a	I attended the event last night and am safely home! I had to park in a parking garage which is never fun and was approached on the street corner...by a young man for the Mormon Church...It was standing room only packed. The evening with Walt was very enjoyable. Fascinating to have his thoughts brought to life by the spoken word. It was basically everything I already knew but it felt like a personal storybook being read out loud. I felt like a child tell us one more story please!Lots of questions and he knew WAlt's history! One person asked why Walt did not choose Kansas City for the location for Disneyworld and the group I exited with laughed over that one as we walked out the library door and the wind and snow froze us.I do remember when the town I grew up in (St.Louis,Mo.)was so excited and truly believed we would be chosen for that site. It was in the newspapers and the politicians were planning the tax incentives. That is the location for the Gateway Arch now.Not quite the same but fireworks on the river is second to Fireworks with a castle in my heart! Anyway the event was recorded last night and I will post the info when it becomes available. Thanks for the interest.
