I can't help but notice none of the 70s Lord of the Rings / Hobbit movies are listed. No surprise there. What a lost opportunity they were. |

But Shrek 2?
Blech. |

Nope. It's not.
AFI thinks that Hanna-Barbera is better than Lilo and Stitch.<<
Probably the best thing Hanna-Barbera ever did. I don't mind it being on the list. |

Oh, absolutely. But it was in spite of the animation, not because of it.
>>"The Hobbit" animated movie was a TV movie.<<
And still better than some of the titles on the list. Animated in Japan, though.
Come to think of it, was any of Charlotte's Web sent out-of-country, or had HB not started that yet? |

And I would add the Raggedy Ann and Andy movie, some great animation talent worked on that. It's a bit bizarre though.
My kids love "The Last Unicorn" and "Quest for Camelot." I can't figure out what it is about those two that's so appealing. |

I think the Corpse Bride is actually one of the best films on this list. (Disney films aside). Actually, I think it's better than a few of the Disney films listed. It's a really unique twist on the formulaic "love at first sight" premise so rampant in animation.
TheRedhead, weren't you the one who made fun of "The Producers" a while back? If you were, I may just stop talking to you. ;) What are you gonna go after next? "Casablanca"? "The Godfather?" "Citizen Kane?" (Actually, I probably wouldn't give you a hard time about Citizen Kane.)

I'll gladly go after "Casablanca." I don't mean to give you a heart attack, but I've always hated it, and never could understand its appeal.
But there are plenty of movies that this country loves and reveres that I'll never get - "Shrek" being one of the biggest, and one which will probably be in AFI's top ten. Often I am the cheese, and I stand alone.
I actually think that "Corpse Bride" might be my least favorite animated film in the last decade. Sorry. I hated it. It becomes especially annoying to me that it was put ton this list and Lilo and Stitch (my favorite animated film) wasn't. |

| u k fan Fri 1/25/2008 8:58a | I'd gladly go to the movies with you, TheRedhead. L&S is a huge omission from this list and I've never understood the appeal of Shrek.
I haven't seen enough of The Corpse Bride to comment and I agree that Snow White will probably be on the list despite the fact that there are at least 10 "better" (IMHO) movies on the list!!! |

That's okay. I'm just giving you a hard time. (For what it's worth, though, I'm not a huge L&S fan. ;)) |
