Topic: Dining Plan? Annual Pass?

Okay, so our plan is to go the last week of November and 1st week of December (16 days). I had planned on staying at the All Star Movie - my husband loves it there. My questions are this:

I was thinking of purchasing the dining plan. It will only allow me to put a maximum of 10 days for the passes, so although I have booked the hotel for 15 nights, I'm not sure if the dining plan would be for 15 days or for 10.

I also know that some people advocate buying an annual pass to help save some money on the hotel and passes. I'm trying to decide whether it would save me enough to justify the cost of the pass. Does it give me a discount on the dining plan?

I know the dining plan has had some changes. It says one counter service and one sit down meal, as well as a snack. Am I correct that it no longer includes the tip?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but for now that's it.

Thanks to all for any help. We have been there before, but our last visit was 1999.

The dining plan no longer includes an appetizer with your table service meal.

When I booked the dining plan for 2006, we only needed to buy a one day base ticket, so the dining plan does not go by the number of days you buy on a ticket, but by the number of days you stay in the hotel. I didn't need tickets because we had leftovers from previous trips. So all we bought were the one day base tickets. The dining plan must be purchased as part of a package, and adding the one day ticket makes your ressie a package.

Oh, so the dining plan would then be for the entire stay? Wow, that's great!

Nancy, are you sure you want to go then? The 1st week of December is the filming of the Christmas Parade and Pop Warner. Our experience of the MK especially that week was not great. So much so, I don't know if we will ever return to the MK. Are you able to do the 2nd and 3rd weeks of Dec instead. It may be better.

Pop Warner doesn't start until December 7, 2008. We are planning for the week following Thanksgiving as well and I just checked the Pop Warner Website for the dates.

Oh, that will be fantastic for you guys then. I know that in 2000, and 2006, it was the week after Thanksgiving.

We were there the week after Thanksgiving this last year and the crowds weren't bad at all.

OOh, thanks all. I didn't think about that. I'm really stuck about going at this time, because I have to apply for a leave. The school board traditionally will not approve any leaves that are around holidays (like Christmas break) so by moving it to the end of Nov and first bit of Dec, I'm hoping they'll approve it. Thanks maceddie! I checked our flights yesterday and will book tomorrow. It's going to be Nov 21 - Dec 6 - so we'll clear town before Pop pops in!

Don't be afraid of the first week of December. We were there in 07 Nov.30 thru Dec 7th. Crowds were not bad at all. It's hard to find a real slow time anymore. Wait times were usually no more than 15 mins, though we still had to fast-pass Soarin. We also had annual passes. You will only get a discount on your room if there are specials out there. You will have to call Disney about this. I've never used the dining plan. Always seemed to be too much food for us. We split many, many meals, not because of cost, but we got tired of wasting food.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
