I read a while back that there was a flat fee from Long Beach to Anaheim. Does anyone know if it's still true and if so how much is it currently.
I remember you had to ask them about it before you got into the cab
THX!!!

I took the cab from Long Beach airport to the Hilton in December, and it was a flat rate of $40. When I walked over to the cab area, the guy in charge asked where I was going and he told me about the flat rate.

my advise, don't travel into long beach if possible. the rates for either a cab or shuttle is much more than either lax or orange county. i tend to take the shuttle and from orange county is 10 dollars and from lax is 15. i took it once from long beach and it was like 25 dollars. i couldn't believe it. now i only fly into orange county or lax if i can help it.

It's a flat fee from the airport to the DL area, but not the reverse direction. Which I don't get. From the hotel to airport it was more than the flat fee for us, not a lot more as I recall, but more.

Long Beach is actually in Los Angeles County, on the eastern border. So you take an LA County licensed cab going from the Airport to the DLR area. The Airport has a regulation thru LA County to require the flat rate.

On your way back, you are using an Orange County Licensed Cab, which has different rules.

And the porr LA Cab can't pick up a fare in OC, so he has to drive back about 12 miles before he can start looking for a fare.

The OC cab can't pick up at LGB, but only has about 1 mile before he/she is back in OC, and can start loooking for fares.

If you do fly into Long Beach, look up Zippy Shuttle service.

We used them last time and got a RT for $75.00 from LGB to HoJo's.

The service and vans were great ~ I would definately recommend them!!
