Does anyone know the names of the new ships? When they will be ready and if they will have casinos?

I don't think they have chosen names yet, but I'd bet money that one of them will be called the "Dream." I believe the first will be launched sometime in 2010, with the second the following year.

Casinos on a Disney ship will not happen, IMO.

Are these two ships to be the same size as the Wonder and Magic?

They are so impressive in their size:

Around 950 feet long.

Are the next two be the same design? Or different?

Passporter says the first one is launched in 2011. They be _much_ bigger than the current ships:

Aren't these planned to be based in LA? I thought they were going to have a couple over here, and run them up to Alaska in the summer, and down the Mexico in the winter....that could be a rumour though...

I have heard they will have 2 ships on the west coast. One that does the Alaska/Summer, Mexico/Winter route. And the other going out to the new Disney resort at Ko Olina, Hawaii.

If they're going all the way to Hawaii, they should set up a couple of cruises a year to do a Tokyo/Hong Kong swing for a real exotic "Disney Dream Cruise" sort of thing.

Somewhere online I found a picture comparing the new ships with the originals side by side, they are WAY WAY bigger...

According to the new deal signed with Port Canaveral, Disney has committed to basing the new ships here in Florida so I'm guessing the existing ships (or at least one) will move to CA which makes sense.

Doobie.
