Kevin Yee has written a memoir, called "Mouse Trap: Memoir of a Disneyland Cast Member 1987-2002." It's available in a "preview" edition (complete with typos) from MiceAge.com. The regular edition will be available through bookstores "soon" (whatever that means).

This is a dual-purpose post:

1. I just heard about this last week, and I thought I would spread the news, since I know some people here like Yee's writing.

2. I'm curious to know if anybody around here has read "Mouse Trap" yet, and what you thought of it. I've borrowed a copy, but I haven't had a chance to start it, yet.

Its a nice story with his past and such, even including guest tricks and even cast member tricks. Showing his own faults and such.

I enjoyed it, if I ever learned how to write up a review I might get around to it.

^-Well, yes, that's where I borrowed mine from, but I was trying to be discreet. ;-)

I purchased a "preview" copy via MiceAge and just finished it. I liked it. He kinda bounces around a bit re: the business side of working there - submitting daily forms, etc., but a lot of the content is really fun.

The writer/editor in me wanted to take charge a couple of times, but I know Kevin's written a few books - and a lot of articles - so I supressed the urge and just enjoyed the insights. *L*

I picked up a copy from Kevin at Mousefest and am still reading it (no, I'm not that slow a reader - I just haven't much time for pleasure reading).

It's not bad so far - I was working at the Park about the same time Kevin started, so I can definitely relate to some of his experiences. I'll get back to y'all with more thoughts when (if?) I finish it...

Bought a preview copy and thought it was a decent read. Intersting insights for what it was like to be a CM...at least from his perspective. If you want to know more about the life of a CM and some of the "secrets" about the park, it's a good book.

Where can I find a preview copy or just a regular copy?
