Sure, it will be neat to have Destino, but as I've mentioned before, I really don't think there are enough bonus features in the world to make a 2 disc DVD on a single animated short interesting. I have enough trouble getting through all the information on the Silly Symphonies, but those at least had a ton of variation between them. I fear that this will just throw the same 5 pieces of information at us in 30 different ways, similar to all those Travel Channel specials on Expedition Everest (enough thrust to power a 747!). >> I am likely to buy Destino, but I am also a big fan of Dali. If not, this two disk set would be where the majority of the series are...in the store instead of my house. There are just too many of these series that aren't interesting to me. I own Oswald, Silly Symphonies 1, Mickey B&W #1 & 2 and Rarities. I love the old pen and ink animation and its been so hard to get hold of many of the cartoons for so many years I am willing to spend my cash on these disks. However, I never thought Spin & Marty, Swamp Fox and rehashes of the what seem like travel channel specials on Disneyland were worth buying just to fill up space in my apartment. That doesn't mean they aren't someone else's cup of tea though. I just don't think they are "Treasures". I would love to see them in regular release though. The only one I haven't bought yet that I want is "On the Front Lines" but I will be getting that from Amazon sooner than later.

Who'd'a thunk we'd ever get "Der Fueherer's Face" on home video? And Donald's popularity seems none the worse for it. I wish the other studios would follow suit. Nothing wrong with making historical stuff available, says I.

What bugs me is that my local Fry's Electronics still has one in stock, lol! I've mentioned this before, but I feel bad for seeing all the 'rejects' still on the shelves, most of the leftovers are the MMC and Oswald. I still think the Destino set should be renamed "Destino and Other Rarities", and include other shorts on it. I for one enjoy having the classic programs about Disneyland in the Treasures, even though some are repetitve (IASW in both "Seasons at DL" and "DL goes to the World's Fair", for example). I love seeing all the concept art and "dress rehearsals" for the rides...which brings me to my next point: I really wish there was a Marc Davis/DL concept art book that featured concept art for Pirates, Mansion, Bears, America Sings, Splash and Carousel of Progress.

I also feel sorry for the rejects, especially Oswald. I ran out to buy that one the first day. I waited 30 years to have a copy of an Oswald cartoon in some form. I've been a fan since I saw the first poster of him in the Art of Disney book at our public library (I was about ten). To think of those poor Oswalds on the shelf in their gold tins sitting alone on the shelves *sob*

They made too dang many Oswald sets. Not sure what they were thinking. Historical significance doesn't sell DVDs in massive quantities. At the same time, I wish Disney FANS got more excited about the classic good stuff instead of cheapquels and trinkets and DCA. I can't understand how you can possibly spend hundreds of dollars on pins, and not have a copy of "Saludos Amigos." Something is terribly wrong there!

30	leemac Mon 5/5/2008 3:50a	<<a widescreen Goofy Movie (shuddup, it's good)>> Whoa there mawnck - I thought I was the only person that loved Goofy Movie. :-) Just a great creative team on that one - you have Kevin Lima as director (TARZAN and Enchanted), the Brizzi Brothers producing the animation (also responsible for the only two singularly flawless pieces of animation from the second golden age of animation - Hellfire and Heaven's Light in Hunchback of Notre Dame and Stravinksy's The Firebird Suite from Fantasia 2000), Chris Matheson and Brian Pimental's fun screenplay (the former was the screenwriter for both Bill & Ted movies and the latter was a big influence in Aladdin and TARZAN - plus one of the best DTV sequels I've seen - Bambi II) and of course the truly amazing tunes of 1 2 1 and Stand Out. Just love this movie. But then I also loved DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp.
