On Monday and Tuesday the 28th and 29th we took Junior P to DL and DCA for the first time. As a reminder JuniorP turned 8 weeks two days after we got home, so he's ALMOST 2 months. The impetuous for the trip was that my brother and his wife and two daughters (3 and 2) were coming in from AZ for a trip to DL and because of DL's special for Police and Fire we could get them really cheap tickets. ($56 for 3 day park hoppers). We were planning on using the special anyway, but this gave us a day.

I do have to say that going with an infant was lots of fun. Obviously he didn't get a whole lot out of the trip, but he did really like the lights on the carasoul (both of them) and the lights and music of the parade of dreams. He was NOT a fan of getting his binkie taken out of his mouth for pictures.

JuniorP spent most of the time in his snugglie (a baby carrier), up front and facing his Momma, and he was a pleasure. We took advantage of baby swap for Space Mountain, and Soarin', but other that, pretty much restricted ourselves to rides that permitted lap sitting. (So, for example, no Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin. Although it has no height requirement, it also doesn't allow lap sitting, and since JuniorP doesn't sit on his own yet, it was out. Of course we could have baby swapped, but didn't feel like it.)

Let me also say that JuniorP LOVED the "swinging" Sun Wheel of Death--Babies and their swings!

The baby center on main street does have the nicest diper changeing tables I've ever seen! Including something I didn't know about before. It's a cross between a toilet, and a sink. It's a big broad sink, at waist height that flushes like a toilet: A baby bath. Good to keep in mind if (when) JuniorP has a major "protein spill" of his own.

Overall for those contemplating DL w/an infant, I would say know your infant, slow down and then go for it. I know JuniorP is usually pretty happy as long as he is being held. So, we brought the sungglie and had lots of fun. Of course if you have an infant that is easily over stimulated, and cries at bright lights or likes lots of silence, you would want to stay away. But, for the rest of us, don't let having a baby keep you from having a great time and getting those first wonderful pictures.

Speaking of pictures, my brother took lots of pictures of his two super cute daughters with the absolutly funniest captions. Check them out here:

Thank you for sharing your trip report. We took our son when he was 6 weeks (years ago) and we also had an enjoyable time. The baby center is really helpful.

I loved the pictures and especially the captions. I have boys only, so I never get to go to Princess Fantasy Faire, but it looks like a lot of fun.

Your family is beautiful!

What great pictures! So colourful and beautiful girls.
Of course, your little one's picture with Mickey Mouse is so adorable! How wonderful to have a picture with Mickey Mouse so young! I'm jealous!
I am sure that they will be many more and the first one will be so very special!
I always tell people that there is no good age to go to Disneyland, it is enjoyed by all ages, just in different ways!
BTW, did you use a fabric pen on the shirt and just ask the characters to sign it instead of an autograph book?
Did you have to hold it down any special way?

Great report, and great pics!!!

I took Alandra when she was 4 months old and it rained and rained and rained. She was ok, I was miserable.

I loved what she said to Ariel, too...and you know what? It wasn't the first time she's heard that. I promise! :)

The shirts were done with a regular sharpie pen. Their mom put a piece of cardboard inside (a piece of a capri sun box I believe) and then Mom would hold it stretched across the cardboard while the character signed. BTW we dicovered once we got to the park the first day that they don't sell any sort of permanent marker at the resort (graffiti issues) though they don't stop you from bringing one in. So, bring your own!
