"Young Jack Sparrow," anybody?

There's a series of kids' books chronicling Jack Sparrow's teen years. I could imagine Disney turning them into a movie or three.

You can see the covers here: http://www.booksinc.net/NASApp

I've read the first 4, but didn't realise that they had printed so many. I need to catch up.

They're very good, BTW!!!

I LOVE the idea of a 4th movie...I think it would be interesting if they showed Jack growing up, how he became a pirate, his mutiny, and all that good stuff. It doesn't bother me that Elizabeth and Will might not be in this movie, I like their characters, but as much as I love these movies I am kinda getting sick of them...

<<I don't know where they could fit it in, but there were a ton of East India Trading Company folks in 2 and 3 that I had no idea who they were or why we cared about them. I know that Beckett was important, but didn't know what he did or why I should care, and the guy dressed in black seemed to have absolutely no explination at all, and didn't really do much. I don't know if those are characters that would be interesting to know more about (Beckett at least has potential), but there's a thought for some more stuff to mix in there.>>

Well that's it in a nutshell, isn't it?

For me, it's all about story-telling integrity. Curse Of The Black Pearl had it in spades. Dead Man's Chest, not so much. End Of The World... REALLY stretching it.

I'd love a 4th, if it made sense, was true to the characters, and was entertaining. But if it were to be just another (money-making) exercise in diminishing artistic returns, I'd rather it not exist.

I figured this would be the place to find the answer to this question as I've been researching it myself a little over the past two months or so.

I was looking on Answers.com, and this is what I found so far. I know they're not always accurate, but I think it depends on whose submitting the information to them based on a reply I got from them once. It's interesting what these two different answers say, but I think the first one was just too new when they got the info, and maybe the source they got it from wasn't sure yet:

1st question - WikiAnswers: How many Pirates Of The Caribbean movies are they going to make?

Answer: only 3

http://www.answers.com/topic/h...tainment

2nd question - WikiAnswers: When is the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean coming out?

Summer:
It will come out around the same time as the third and it will probably be next summer. (this is what it said last year)

http://www.answers.com/topic/w...tainment

Now that itself is a little off since the 3rd one came out before Summer on May 25th, correct?

Other than that, I've been checking looking on YouTube.com for any possible trailers, but most of them are all fan made with just pictures from the previous films accompanied by music. The subtitle apparently is Fountain of Youth. One of the videos, actually the first one I looked at, was not too bad. And I may dig it up here in a minute.

Fountain of Youth, according to Wiki:

http://pirates.wikia.com/wiki/...of_Youth

YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=HXGFnyNqEuY

I liked it mainly because of the music used, it's from the AWE soundtrack, "One Day" I think. And the clip is 3:53 long.

About Keira Knightley, I think it was my Sister who told me this months ago, that she didn't renew her contract to do the next one. Orlando Bloom though I don't know.

This to is from 2007, "Will Disney greenlight Pirates 4: Fountain of Youth?
