Topic: Has anyone heard of this grocery chain?

1	DAR Wed 2/13/2008 1:16p	A new grocery store opened near me. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain. When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh mown hay. In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions. When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying. The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread & cookies. I don't buy toilet paper there any more.

3	FerretAfros Wed 2/13/2008 5:14p	I've seen a lot of those features at a Kroger. It's owned by the same company as Ralph's for all of you California folks. When you go near the dairy, there are periodic "moo" noises that come out of speakers. There are also clucks near the eggs. I don't know for sure if they pump smells in, but it wouldn't surprise me, since certain areas definately smell better than others. I think the most interesting part of the whole thing is that the store where I found all this was not in some big city or fancy suburb. Instead it was in a small town in the rural mountains of southeast Virginia...
