By the way thanks for the link, and look forward to more... |

Don't know where that info has come from - I don't know the parade length from step-off to close but the music loops are c.25 minutes. |

| DisneyfanUK Thu 3/20/2008 3:56p | why is there no show mode or unlikely to be in any parade for a while ? I thought these were popular ? |

| FerretAfros Thu 3/20/2008 3:59p | 25 minute music loops! Holy cow! Does that mean that the dancers will all have to learn a 25 minute routine? That would be incredible, and rediculously long. That means that there is absolutely no way that they will do the same moves in an area where they could be seen twice along the parade route. I'm not sure how long it takes a parade to run its course, but it sounds like just twice through the loop could easily get it from step off to backstage again. That's pretty insane! |

Any particular reason for this? |

| leemac Thu 3/20/2008 4:46p | Yup - WDI-CE don't like them. They don't enhance the story and limit part of the show to a select part of the audience hence why Dreams on Parade was a nightmare around the hub at TDL as guests HAD to see Mickey front and center during the show mode (he used to stop in front of Partner). I've been dead-set against them for a long time and most of the parade producers now agree.
That is why the last few parades - Once Upon a Dream Parade at DLP, Mickey's WaterWorks at HKDL and Pixar Play! Parade at DCA have no show mode. It is unlikely that any of the new parades in the work like DL's new one will have show modes either.
Jubilation! is a tough one to explain. It has phases of sort - so the music and choreography can gyrate to a different beat, rhythm or speed. It keeps the performers from being exhausted and gives guests a different aspect to see. The main theme (which is exceptional) will be refitted for each float - so there will be a romance version, a jungle rhythms version and even an adventures one. It is one of my favourite parade themes for a long time - and it still has the treasures theme (unlike the parade name itself). |

All of Steven Davison's parades do not have show modes (DLP's was produced by Michael Jung who also did TDL's 20th parade and HKDL's first daytime parade). |

Again a tough one to explain - the music transitions from float to float so typically an entire viewed performance is one loop for this parade. I guess it isn't technically one single loop but it is the only word I can think of to describe it properly.
Jubilation! is insane. I can't wait to see the reaction of regular guests when it debuts April 14/15. I think this one will be very popular with the fan base. The floats are stunning. |

What do you mean? The official start date seems to be April 15, the same day as the 25th Anniversary and kickoff of the 25th Anniversary celebration. Is there going to be a preview the day before? |

| tcsnwhite Thu 3/20/2008 5:39p | Lee,
is DCE not liking show stops a new thing, or was it always that way...?
Parade of Dreams at Disneyland, Block Party Bash (though the whole point is the show stop), Disney's Once Upon a Dream, several others...
for a while lots of parades had show stops. was it that they felt like it was being slightly overused just for the sake of it, or what?
Steven did POD at DL - which has a show stop...did he originally want that, or was it the DL execs that requested it? |
