I am taking my grandparents to Disneyland for their first time since 1979. I have a list of attractions that I think they should see, but I would like to know what other people think the must sees are. Also, they want to check out DCA for a few hours. With only about 2 or 3 hours in DCA, what would you recomend we do?

In DCA I would recommend:

--Soarin' Over California
--Golden Dreams
--It's Tough to be a Bug
--MuppetVision 3-D
--Sun Wheel (stationary cabins probably)
--Seasons of the Vine (if open)
--The Cove Bar

Oh, by the way, my list was for old people who probably wouldn't be thrill-oriented.

Personally, I think the must-see attractions in DCA are:

--Soarin' Over California
--Tower of Terror
--California Screamin'
--The Sun Wheel (swinging cabins)
--Grizzly River Run
--It's Tough to be a Bug

ChurroMonster, I think that your first list was perfect for our visit. Except Golden Dreams. lol jk..but maybe I could go ride Grizzly or Screamin' while they do that :) Thank you for your input.

When Mr. Alice's 80 year old mom joined us on a three-day visit to DLR, we took her with us through the first part of the Tower of Terror, then a cast member directed her to the "chicken exit," so she didn't do the thrill portion of it.

Unfortunately, they didn't walk her all the way through and she got lost behind the scenes, but she kinda got a kick out of that and was waiting for us in the gift shop afterward. *L*

I didn't know there was a chicken exit! When you say "1st part of Tower of Terror", do you mean the library section only?
I would love for hubby to experience some of this attraction but he flat-out refuses to step foot in there because it's a "dropping" ride which makes him barf.
I wasn't aware that the drop section could be skipped. Do tell all please.
Thank you!

If you just tell the CM who is putting everybody in the right lines that he doesn't want to ride, he can wait with you, and then they will let him go down the hall to the exit and store. There are "chicken exits" on just about every ride, so you can always "change your mind" at the last minute, or just plan ahead to do it.

I think it would be cool to be lost back stage...only if its not to long though

It's not actually backstage, it's just the little hallway where you exit the elevators. I suppose in the dark it would be pretty tough to figure out where you're going, since it's not even that well marked when the lights are on. I suppose that could make for some interesting encounters with CM's who are trying to load their elevators...

My parents go every year, at least once a year and they're in their 70s. They go on most and some thrillrides and my mum has a pacemaker (mum went on screamin and splash for first time last visit at 73). So most of the attractions would be fine I reckon, just comes down to personal choice really.
