Tinkerbell wasn't there for the first few years, either.
And the problem with the Chewbacca defense is that Chewbacca does not live on Endor. |

Does THAT make sense? |

| monorailblue Fri 2/29/2008 1:16p | ^^^ That makes the most sense of all. Does anyone else think that Pizza the Hut bore a striking resemblance to the Trash Heap of Fraggle Rock fame? A layer of cheese (or garbage), and you might be able to switch one for the other. Can we say conspiracy?
If they add Pizza the Hut to "it's a small world", I hope they do it with the right artistic flare, otherwise, it might be distracting. |

Do I dare admit that all that greasy, runny cheese and pepperoni made me kinda hungry for pizza? I'd best not. |

This is the most annoying part of it. THey never are. THe most popular things in the parks are NOT character based. Yet they keep cramming them in there.>>
The funny thing is that Disneyland didn't even have any official "cartoon characters" (outside of Tinkerbell) in the park for about five years after opening. Disneyland was fine without them. Through the years, they slowly populated Fantasyland with the characters of the attractions represented there.
It's been the recent glut of characters that they have been adding everywhere that has been causing the consternation. There just comes a point where the constant addition of more and more cartoons just weakens the overall fiber of the Disneyland experience.

| u k fan Wed 3/5/2008 2:24a | ^^^Maybe it's because I'm used to the DLP version, but I'm far less upset about changing the rainforest for a USA section than the author of that piece.
If I were going to fight a fight it would be about adding characters first, rainforest second!!! |

| Spokker Wed 3/5/2008 4:15a | What?! You don't like the idea of a USA scene in it's a small world?! Do you... hate America??? |

| u k fan Wed 3/5/2008 6:44a | The first time I rode the WDW version I was surprised that there was no American section.
I would hope that the rainforest could be saved in some form, but wouldn't mind the addition of a USA section at all!!! |
