This is such a shame, I discovered E-Ticket pretty late in the game, and have being playing catch up over the past couple of years. It was only this past weekend I picked up a couple and read them from front page to back.

I was not aware one of the people who had been doing the magazine passed on.

That's really very sad.

But when the gentleman said it wasn't fun anymore, I actually could kind of read it in the magazine. As I said earlier, it seemed to have lost a bit of luster of late. I thought it was that they just ran out of things to talk about, but maybe it was just someone trying to carry on with a heavy heart.

That is a bummer. When I was a kid living in the pre-Internet midwest, getting a new issue of The E Ticket was like receiving a telegram from God. I remember when a bundle of back issues were delivered to my house one day in the early 1990's--awww man!

What a wonderful, warm magazine. Still, I'd rather see the curtain drop than know The E Ticket was limping along.

As for Persistence of Vision, it really doesn't deserve mention in a post about The E Ticket...Paul Anderson's pathetic half-promises still rub me raw.

(Nice plug for Tales, Lee)

BTW - the Theme Park Adventure magazines ABSOLUTELY ROCK! Especially the Pirates issue. I can't say the same for Storyboard. If you go back and read those things, they are pretty disjointed. Nice images, though.

Hey! You can't blame a guy for tryin' :-)

We are all part of the LP family anyhow. I must admit I never expected to be a monopoly in this segment that is for sure.

I'm going to miss the E-ticket very much. As someone said, it was obviously a labor of love, and that came through everywhere, although the "hard facts" were always solid as well. I was afraid when Leon J. passed, and the magazines became less frequent, that this might happen. It's an awful lot to expect one person to do. Still, I'm glad there will be one final issue.

Some of my favorite issues were on the FaL dark rides when they described (and often had pictures of) the pre-'83 versions, and compared them to the current versions. It was like being able to ride the old versions again, and it was great. Same with rides like the various versions of the Mine Train.

Great job, Janzen brothers! You brought a lot of smiles to a lot of people. Thanks for the memories, literally.

I renewed my subscription just last fall and then moved in November. I mailed their P.O. Box at the end of the year to update my change of address but the letter was returned to sender. I wonder if/how they will find me for my final issue and renewal refund?

When I renewed I ordered a bunch of old issues - looks like I got lucky as that was my last chance.

I will also greatly miss the mag. Great articles and ever better pics. I wish Disney would produce a good magazine like it.

Just kidding you, Lee.

I think my favorite issues of The E Ticket were either with Tom Scherman talking 20,000 Leagues or the Haunted Mansion interviews with Ken Anderson.

The HM articles were especially great at revealing that, even those these attractions are so epic and nearly-perfect, the process involved in getting there is very human, very organic. Loved it!
