I have to wonder if this is really worth the effort if personal photographs are not allowed.

Does anyone know how strict the resort is about this rule?

For Shag's signings, they were VERY clear on all announcements that Shag would only sign the merchandise on sale for that day.

Ayep, that's why I have so many things signed! I just went back in line after my two items were signed. It helped to have a husband, too. They didn't care and Shag signed whatever he wanted to sign. We even got a picture.

I would go to this if I could get the day off (not going to happen).

Just bring a camera, keep it in your bag along with whatever else you'd like signed. If the opportunity presents itself, you're prepared. If they are strict and by the rulebook, then at the least, you'll get her autograph on her newest book.

There is nothing more disappointing than standing in line for five hours to meet someone only to find out the rules are not being inforced and you COULD have had a picture.

And there is nothing more irritating than to have ONE person break the rules, so be mindful.

I am speaking for a lot of people that didnt get a chance to meet Ms. Andrews due to Disney's unclear policy online.
Many of us bought her book, took work/ school off, and paid just to finally meet her. but what do we get? " we ran out of wristbands a long time ago AND you need to have bought the book here"
first of all it never said online that you couldnt bring your own book NEVERR
and it never said you needed a wristband to get a signing. only to purchase one there. so MANY of us were standing outside waiting for something to happen. THis day was ridiculous and Disney never made their instructions clear to anybody obviously. turns out people spent the night in front in order to get in. fine by me but at least inform us that we needed to buy that book there!
totally dissapointed.
btw: Disneyland is strict on their rules.

yeah i ended up not going because i couldnt afford the book and because they did give most of their bracelets out ahead of time as hotel packages. But my friend was there at five in the morning and got her bracelet and book and met julie andrews :( would have gone with her but had a closing shift that night and couldn't be up that early. im so sad.

The policy on no photos was a request from Julie Andrews' publicists, which was honored by the Disneyland Resort. Julie was very gracious about photos at the 10am ceremony at the carousel. At the Opera House it was a fair and consistent policy. My guess is that Julie prefered to concentrate on the signing and meeting the public, free of incessant flashes and requests to "Look over here and smile!"

There are a number of book signings scheduled. Here's what's coming up.
April 10: Booksigning at Borders Books, Westwood, CA 7-9 PM;
April 13: The Wonder of Reading event, Arclight Theatre, Hollywood, CA 10AM - 1 PM;
April 18: Writers Bloc, Beverly Hills, CA Booksigning 7:30 - 10 PM;
April 27: Julie at Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

Here's where you'll find a full schedule of future appearances:
