I see you haven't been around for a while and both of you are missed for your invaluable contributions to this site. The wealth of knowledge you both bring here is truly educational and informative to any Disney fan.

TDLFAN- I really miss your pictures. My wife and I always enjoyed looking at them.

Spirit- You're the Howard Cosell of LP- you tell it like it is.

Unfortunately, some people don't appreciate hearing anything about Disney unless it is positive, even if it gets in the way of reality.

Well, that's all I've got. Maybe some other LPers who share my opinion will chime in and convince you both of your importance to this community.

I thought the boards were rather tired of late and now I realize why. There are just some people that lend excitement to the day and I guess they are it for the LP.

Indeed these are two LPers I hold in exceedingly high regard, and I miss them terribly. However, life has a habit of keeping things busy and I believe this may also be a part of the absence.

ORDDU: If you'll recall, TDLFAN said his farewells to the Laughing Place pond a few weeks ago. However, my sisters and I have no idea as to why the Spirit isn't with us any more. Perhaps he'll return again when the mood strikes. We miss him, as well.

I too miss them from the boards.

I didn't always agree with them, but they kept things interesting!!!

A friend just sent me this link and while I DO appreciate the kind words/thoughts, I have no intentions at this time of coming back here regularly or any other Disney site for that matter.

Frankly, part of me is very happy things are boring here without TDLFAN and myself.

Sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone.

It's funny. You post somewhere. You drive traffic to a site. You bring stimulating discussion/debate and you get labeled all sorts of nasty things.

And then you leave. And all those little whiners that looked upon you as 'the Big Bad Spirit' disappear as well. Sorta makes you wonder what their agendas were to begin with.

This is a terrific site and Doobie and crew should be applauded. But I can't help but wonder if it wouldn't be better without discussion boards at all.

It's amazing what people will say when cloaked behind a computer. Those here who know me in real life (the few, the proud, the nuts!) know that what you see is what you get. My opinions don't change just because I'm out there.

I'm not mean. I'm not nasty. I'm not a bully.

I'm matter-of-fact. I'm blunt.

And I don't suffer fools well.

Two things have been made crystal clear during my 'sabbatical.'

1.) Posting regularly on a Disney fan site can have negative consequences for your physical and mental health ... I've seen friends consumed with the online world who start living online and it isn't a pretty picture; and

2.) I've been to both DL and WDW since I stopped posting and I seem to enjoy them a lot more without dissecting everything. That isn't to say I believe there aren't serious problems with the way Disney parks are run today (jonv makes most of my points anyway!) ... it's just there's too much crap in the world to get all worked up about the fact that most of Main Street at the MK is rotting away or the fact WDW Dining is really getting close to the gouging point with all the price increases. I just don't want to argue about these things, let alone with people so blinded by pixie dust that they can't see what's right under their noses.

Life's too short ... you ALL take care!

Haha saying goodbye to a forum? That is the lamest thing ever. It's like a kid threatening to commit suicide. They just want attention.
