Worked this time - pix were amazing - especially the ones of the city views...It's one of those things those of us living here take for advantage and never really go see enough!

Well, I know some people berrate DVC and other timeshare schemes, but for us it works. We had a 1400sq foot, 2 bedroom villa with a slight ocean view. The rack rate vallue is $4200 for the week, but as owners, our cost is $1200 for the week. Worth every penny.
We had one of the nearest units to the pools and club house as requested. It was a wonderful place, and very easy reach to multiple attractions.

Dave I do agree about Monterey - we went last May for a anniversy get away -the wharf area was under contruction - we figured it would end up more touristy...
More great Pix.. You do take wonderful shots though!

Thanks Gottaluvdavillains, that's very kind.
We fell in love with the Newport Coast Resort. If any LPers wants to stay here, we can do a referral to give you preferrencial rates. Also, there is one sales guy there who is a member of Club 33 and can hook his owners up with a reservation! If anyone is interested, please let me know.
We love this place. I am tempted if we ever add to our portfolio to make this our second week ownership (our first is at MVCI next to DLP).

We loved staying at this resort for a week. 30 mins from DL/Knotts, 60 min from Legoland, 90 min from San Diego attractions, and lots to do in the local area.
Here are some pics of the resort:

The first full day at Newport Coast we were tired, so we slept in, went grocery shopping and headed off to Knott's Berry Farm for the infamous Chicken Dinner. It was wierd. KBF was closed due to rain. I had never seen that happen.
Good thing we didn't have our heart set on the park. But given it seems to be a thrill park these days, no loss. Shame. KBF was always my 2nd fav park after DL as a kid.
We queued for an hour for dinner, as normal for a Sunday. It was a mixed experience. The chicken, biscuits, boysenberry pie and punch were devine as always, and it was a great price for a lot of food. Shame the potatoes were watery, the veggies were canned and the service was not much to be desired. Oh well.
When we left, we bought a wonderful pie to have in the villa in the week - good call!!!! we then did a little shopping and had an early night, for the wonders of Seaworld approached for the next day.

Funny - we ate there a while back and thought the same - there is actually a restaurant down the street called Po'Folks that is more of what I remember kbf restaurant to be...
