123	davewasbaloo Wed 3/19/2008 11:14a	Hey Ruthie, I am not worried about the kids' education as they will learn far more at an International Meet even if they were Pirate Brittany or Dr frootloop's age. It's the burocracy, fines, and possible professional flack that could be an issue. But as an american, I think I can take my kids home. My Indian and Philipino colleagues do.

127	iamsally Wed 3/19/2008 12:09p	Yes, we have that too. I once faked a funeral to keep my kids out of school for a week. Here it's all about money. ADA (average daily attendance) is calculated by the number of students in class. If it is an *excused* absence the school still gets its money. So with all the cutbacks they can freak out over a kid missing a day. (They will even stop food stamp and welfare payments.) But I am sure you are savvy enough to make it legitimate.
