Okay, so tonight the men danced, with the women sitting out until tomorrow. the scores will be combined with next weeks round; there is no elimination this week.

First up, Penn Gillette with Kym Johnson. Pen is HUGE. He refers to himself as Big Foot, and he rather dances like one. They do a Cha Cha. Score 5-6-6, total 16.

Second up is Jason Taylor with Edyta Sliwinska. They dance the Fox Trot. He has some technique, but is rather by-the-numbers. Score 7-8-7. total 22.

Third on the floor is Cristian De La Fuente and Cheryl Burke. He hopes his Latin side will come out. They too do a Cha Cha. He wants to be sexy, but is a bit hunched over. Score 7-7-7, total 21.

Fourth up is Adam Carolla and Julianne Hough, doing the Fox Trot. Oh dear. My dear Julianne will get some rest this season, because Adam is probably not going to last much past next week. I think he had a bit better technique than Penn, but the judges give him 5-5-5, total 15.

Karina Smirnoff gets another Mario. He is asked if he feels people will feel he has an unfair advantage since he dances (Hip Hop.) He says no, but hopes he last longer than Sabrina Bryan. They do the Cha Cha. He is good, and they score 8-8-8, total 24.

The final couple of the night is Steve Guttenburg and Anna Trebunskaya. He is very happy to be on the show doing something positive, and she is happy to tell him what to do. She says he is a good student. They dance a Fox Trot, and score 6-6-6, total 18.

The men were a snore last night.

Kristi Yamaguchi will win, nobody else came close.

And I think the double elimination next week (lowest scored man/lowest socred woman) is a bit unfair. It should be the lowest period.

Oh well. Looks like it may be a bit of a boring season this time.

Doesn't Kristi Yamaguchi have a bit of an unfair advantage in this competition? Heck, if she could do what she could do on ice skates, I'd think that dancing would be a cinch.

First to dance on the ladies night was Shannon Elizabeth with her pro partner Derek Hough. Derek says the pretty stars tend to leave the show early, so his plan was to come out with guns blazing. They do the Cha Cha. Shannon's legs looked somewhat awkward. Score 7-7-7-, total 21.

Next up was Monica Seles and Jonathan Roberts. Monica says that she started playing tennis at six years of age, and never had a chance to be a girl. She startled me with her emotional Fox Trot... but the dancing was so so. The judges awkward her 5-5-5, total 15.

Third to dance was Marissa Jaret Winokur and Toni Dovolani. She wants to show that women of any size can dance. She can barely contain her energy while they do the Cha Cha Cha. That was fun to watch, but teh judges wanted more Cha Cha and less Solid Gold. Score 6-6-6, total 18.

Priscilla Presley and Louis Van Amstel are next to dance the Fox Trot. At 62, she is the oldest female ever on the show. She says she is very private, but wants to take a risk and get back out there. She is very elegant on the floor, but I was worried that at the end she was going to have a Marie Osmond moment there.... she didn't look too well afterwards. Score 8-8-8, total 24.

Fifth to dance is Kristi Yamaguchi and pro Mark Balas. She is doing the show because she has always loved entertaining. She nails the Fot Trot... did anyone expect less? Score 9-9-9 , total 27.

Last on the dance floor is Marlee Matlin and new pro Fabian Sanchez. She is profoundly deaf and relies on facial and body cues from Fabian to dance the Cha Cha Cha on beat. Wow, she is pretty good! The judges award her 7-7-8. total 22.

I thought both shows were pretty good, but the men were much more entertaining for me. Maybe it was just the comedy aspects of Penn, Adam and Steve, but they seem to have much more personality than Monica and Priscilla.

I also felt that Priscilla's dance was rated much too high. I thought she looked plastic and awkward and wouldn't have give her above 6s. (But I have 2 left feet, with all big toes, so what do I know.)

I liked Marissa's energy and hope she'll stay around a few weeks, but I don't think she has the fan base.

I'm for the double elimination. Since they don't get rid of anyone this week, they do 2 next week. I don't figure they'er going to do 2 every week, just the 1st elimination. Of course, if they do 2, every 2 weeks, it'll make it much more interesting.

I don't mind the double elimination, just that it is not the two lowest rated stars regardless of gender.

I haven't watched DWTS since season 2, I think. Since I thought the JoBros were going to be on last night, and I was t my grandma's and had no other entertainment, I was sucked in.

WOW...some of the stars are great! I was not surprised about Kristi's performance, since she's had the experience on her feet and balance and staying on beat. My grandma was impressed, too.

I'm going to record tonight's show, since hockey is on, and I'm home. But Alex may watch it "live" since she wants to see the JoBros.

My daughter just came back from a JoBro's concert (Saturday night) and they allowed fans to take video. I have to admit, I wasn't quite as impressed by their live performance. Even on Dancing, last night, the youngest one seemed a little off on the vocals.
