I just watched the video of the new parade. WOW !!!

This is fantastic. I love it. Top notch all the way. The music is fun and you can't help but groove to it.

Great job !

Well, the music sucks. Original music please. Was there really no music from the movies that could be used?

And perhaps due to the lousy choice of music, the actors just seem to be frenetically jumping around.

Then again, maybe its better in person.

I can say in person the music works a ton better than the POD music. The underlying "Countdown to Fun" song really works well. The other songs all relate to the movies, so you don't even notice that they're not from the movies. The consistancy between floats between the main theme and the similarity of styles with each song (all new recordings from what I could tell) makes the whole parade flow as one cohesive show.

I also would like to point out that the music from Pixar movies all seems to be by Randy Newman, which isn't exactly peppy or anything that I would want to listen to by choice. From what I could tell, there was no flailing, but instead doing moves that were again related to the films and the music (like a clock motion that all the dancers did when the song counted down). It worked really well IMO, and I can't wait to see it again!

I have only watched this new parade on-line so I hope it will be better in person! I did enjoy the song "Bugs Just Want to Have Fun"(Cyndi Lauper great melody) and liked the ANTZ on see-saw Float. BUT the beginning of the parade with the Windex Cleaners/CARS ??? And ROZ??? and finally the Incredibles infant baby with "Fire" exploding out of his brain...very disturbing It did look like everybody was having fun. I guess I would have been excited just to see something new also.I always prefer the night parades because of the nightlight effects. I wonder if this parade will be seen at night. It does appear to be a daytime parade. Does anybody know? Oh well, I am jealous, I realy wanted to be at DCA this weekend.

As for the cleaners at the beginning, it looked like water in person, not Windex, which would make it a lot less disturbing. I liked how it introduced the idea of getting wet gradually, by having them have a little water fight with eachother before the floats started getting us. It's hard to explain but it was a very subtle way to subcontiously losen the crowd up to getting wet. It also made for a really fun little intro with the cars that they already had (a much better solution than Mater at the end IMO).

Roz was kind of funny. There's a short voice over with her and Mike before the parade comes and the music starts, so you get a little background that (unsurprisingly) she doesn't really want to be there, and the whole thing works well. It's just a little creepy how her wrist keeps twisting. Jack Jack was awsome! It's a very clear direct reference from the movie, so if you haven't seen that, it wouldn't make sense, but if you had then it's a pretty good gag. It was definately one of the highlights for me!

From what I could tell, they do plan on having this parade at night. I saw it on Thursday when the natural lighting was fine, but they had all the parade lights turned on anyway. Several of them had colored filters on them, and a lot of them were set up to cycle between two or three colors. You couldn't seen the effects of this at all, but I looked up and saw the filters sliding back and forth. The bubbles also come out of the lamp posts, which I really liked. This way, they start as soon as the first Nemo characters and dancers get near you, not when the float gets there, so the surprise moment came early and we weren't really distracted by the time the dancers and floats got near. It also allows for them to be constant since they can run between floats too. It made the whole thing a lot more consistant and really cool.

Thanks ferretafros for the quick response! I kinda figured it was just water! But now that you have explained away my doubts I am excited about the new parade. Maybe I should plan to see it at night for my first time. I wonder if they wil sell the music to the parade.Of course they could wait and include all the other new improvements/soundtracks.Thanks again!
