One of those videos is mine, and I can definitely say that the videos don't do the parade justice. It is much more fun in person.
Despite the troubles this parade has had, I'm really happy to have it. The Bucket O' Soldiers had to go, IMO. My one gripe is that I wish it were longer. Adding Monsters, Inc. and WALL-E floats should do the trick. I'd also like to see the Pixar short film characters in the mix, especially the buskers in One Man Band and t. |

Tue 3/25/2008 11:05a | you know whats sad? i work at calfornia adventure and have still yet to see this parade. Im so sad. I was scheduled to work it the first day it got canceled. I feel so bummed. im trying to not watch the videos because i wanna see if for myself in person. Oh well! |

For all the hate directed toward the park, one of my most magical experiences is riding a Segway with Kristen and Candee around a park while the CMs start their day. I also really like the HSM show. I have a lot of respect for those performers, after seeing them on one of the coldest, rainiest days in recent memory. |

I thought I also read earlier that there was a large finale float that was not used in the soft opening (a Cars float maybe) that they had major problems with. Was there really such a float and if so what is its status? |

Tue 3/25/2008 3:12p | I hadn't heard of a finale float until you mentioned it, so I doubt there is another one. From the concept art that I saw from the vacation planning DVD, it looks like all of those floats are in place, and the Cars were intended to be split up that way. I think it would be nice to see a real Cars unit, but I also really like the way that Lightning McQueen starts the parade off with the washer girls having a water fight. It's a great introduction to the parade and I don't want to lose it, but it seems like Cars (and Monsters Inc) is kind of getting jipped. |
