Well folks, I'm probably the HAPPIEST camper in the room on the Burger King return to Japan (albeit in small numbers)...BUT...

I went there tonight, and, well...no more lines out the door. In fact, pretty dead. And this was around 6PM on a Friday night!

On the plus side, they have brought back ONION RINGS (I was so happy I almost cried lol)...on the negative side it still is way too expensive (a regular cheeseburger is 220 yen!) and too few and far between...and most disturbing was the fact that the restaurant was pretty run-down and DIRTY (this after only a few months in operation).

I think Burger King is, maybe, not working out yet again.

So, Burger King fans, run to Nishi-Shinjuku, in the food court of the i-land building, and enjoy while you can...me thinks BK is about to die a second death in Japan!

LOL.

I can't remember the last time I have eaten at BK. The last time has to be more than a year ago. I do like their "lame broiled patties. I want to like their onion rings, but they are not that good.

Oh, and run down and dirty?! That seems so un-Japanese.

YES...that shocked me too.

Actually, I think it was the most dirty (floors and tabletops etc...) fast food place I've ever seen in Japan actually.

Weird. Sad. And made me think "uh oh".

Still fresh and tasty food though...go figure.

Maybe it is owned or run by some Chinese guy. I am Chinese, so I can say that. :P

You said it's only just re-opened. Iy may take some time to build up business.

That should be "It may take...."

***you said it's only just re-opened. It may take some time to build up business.***

That's certainly possible. But the first couple of times I went there it was slammed. They had rope lines and a posted "30 minute wait" sign which wasn't that far off.

That might have been opening hype of course. But to go from that to dead (on a Friday at dinner time) seemed pretty odd to me.

Anyway, I HOPE they are successful because I don't wanna see Burger King leave Japan again (the first time was tragic enough lol).

Mr X I know how it feels to loose Burger King. Its happen to me too, the Island I live on once had a franchise but it has sadly closed down. Mind you the food was terrible anyway. I'm hoping you don't loose your Burger King restuarant, spread the word out and good luck.
