I'm going to Disneyland this week, and I'm worried about the huge portions and fatty foods... Do you guys have any suggestions for low-calorie (or Weight Watchers friendly) foods at the park?
Thanks so much for your help!

Bring your own.

Seriously, bring in some Special K bars, 100 calorie packs and other low-cal food.

When it comes to eating healthy, there are places that have healthier food.

Pizza Port in Tomorrowland has salads

Tomorrowland Terrace has a sandwich option

Rancho should have some healthier food choices

Also, kids meals are getting to be on the healthier side, and you can order them. They are also smaller portions, come with apples or carrots, and you can also get a bottle of water instead of soda.

I'm not much on the "eat healthy while at Disneyland" so my info tends to be limited, but others here will have more info for you, since there are some LPers on WW.

I don't know the WW point values for the food offered at DL but here are a few suggestions based on my personal experience...

At sit-down restaurants I try to make a habit of asking for sauces or dressings on the side. You can ask to sub fries or potatoes with fruit or veggies. The veggies are usually nicely seasoned but may be cooked with plenty of butter so see if they can use olive oil instead.

For quicker snack options I recommend a Mickey pretzel without the cheese. You have the option of salt or no salt as well. There are a few carts throughout the park that offer fruits, veggies and trail mix. Definitely healthier than popcorn, churros and turkey legs (packed with sodium).

Sometimes I do bring some of my own light snacks into the park. I've had no problems bringing in granola bars, nuts, small boxes of raisins, small baggies of my own healthier variety of popcorn (already popped of course) rice cakes and even pb & j on whole wheat bread wrapped in plastic wrap. It all fits nicely in a backpack along with water, camera, etc.

Just don't be afraid to ask questions. The CM's can be very accomodating. Most importantly, have a great trip!

I love the kids meals at DLR!! Especially at the Plaza Inn YUM :)

If I am starving I will also order a side salad.

I know, it's a lot of food! It's a whole chicken breast! What a great deal & a great idea to mix it with the salad. :D
