That's too bad that they don't look that great. I think it would be really fun to have a decent quality (obviously not too good because of the really high-end line they have) model of the park that you can get for kids to play with. It would be really fun to collect it as pieces, but I could also see a lot of parents just wanting it all at once too. Maybe release the pieces individually, then the whole set at the end?

Actually, they have that too. Although that park playset is Tokyo Disneyland. It's cute, and obviously aimed at kids, but it's got all the major attractions, and little vehicles that go around tracks, like the train, or Toontown trolley. I don't know if it's for sale anymore, but it was a few years ago.

I must of missed the $600 price tag on the Mickey plush. OLC can go and stick it.....

Here is a link to the park playset gurgitoy2 mentions--there is one for sale on eBay right now for less than its original retail price:

When this set is fully assembled in the display at the shops at the TDR resort, they have the resort liner toy operating around it. The whole thing is very cute, but it's still a toy. The new pieces are most definitely not toys.

I agree about the $600 plush--it seems kind of crazy. Maybe the key is made of crystal.

Still wouldn't buy it if he was stuffed with Gold Dust

Thanks for the pics Mara...

Wow, now THAT'S the kind of cool thing I'd love to buy if I had money to burn (and by that I mean, a house and a couple of sportscars and a beach house and a phat retirement fund and a hefty income to boot, so...never).

Yuck - I'd prefer to make my own model, as I did when I was a kid. I used my old electric train set and everything and scoured books for pictures of the shops on Main Street.

It was pretty awesome!

My "yuck" was referring to the DL model set Mara linked to on the previous page.

I thought about buying the Disneyland version being sold piece by piece, but when they say "piece by piece" they're really serious. Something like Big Thunder Mountain consists of multiple little pieces, and you have to pay $14 for each and every piece. I figured it would cost a fortune to buy all of them and have them sent to the US from Tokyo, plus because they're collectibles you have to keep all the cardboard boxes which would take up a hell of a lot of room. That said, I'll probably regret not buying them at some point in the future!

<<< But I will say that I don't think much of the decorations around the castle which look very poor, especially after the great job DLRP has done for its own 15th Anniversary, with the 15 candles >>>

Images of the castle being decorated for the 25th Anniversary are starting to make it online over at the Deep Disney site. Castle will still look like only half a job has been done but the decorations do look nice.
